Allison woke in cold sweat, darkness surrounded her, and taunting memories teased her troubled mind causing her to whimper in fear and pain. Streams of tears poured down her stone face as the deaths of her closest friends and family replayed in her head plucking away any comfort she desperately tried to seek. The horrific memory of seeing her friends' dead bodies displayed like pictures in an art gallery. She couldn't bare it.

"Allison it's ok! It's ok" Remus cooed cradling her shaken body. "It's going to be ok"

"How can you say that" She yelled through tears as she pushed herself away from his body, the only thing that offered comfort in the dark, icy room.

"They're dead Lupin! All of them! Lily, James, Peter, Anastasia and Sirius! All dead and they're never coming back! I can never tell them I'm sorry or say I love you or thank you cause I'm never going to see them again!" She screamed before hugging her knees. Remus looked at her with sorrow in his eyes. He had also lost his friends, but he managed to find love in these dark times, He wished Allie would, but she couldn't. Knowing there was nothing he could do he left, leaving her alone. After a while Allison managed to calm herself down, she got up and sat in Samantha's room. Her family and friends were all dead, except one, the one she loved but loved someone else. The room was filled with sweet things that offered comfort. Leaning her head against the oak baby cot containing soft blankets and cuddly teddies, while her arms resting around her knees still slightly shaking from the fear that still lingered in her mind, she tilted to the side, watching as her niece slept peacefully. A glistening moon shone rays of light casting an angle-like glow around Samantha. The room lay peaceful and still. The only family she had left.

"How can something so pure live in a world so ill..." Allison began as she stared at the bear shaped clock, the hands ticking round and round until they faded from view leaving nothing but a dreamless sleep.

The following morning Allison woke up still next to Samantha's bed. A soft pink blanket peeking through the bars or the crib. The sun shone through the cracks in the pale pink curtains just like it did when she was young and in school. A warm glow cast upon her little face, proving her mother's point. 'Light can always be found in the darkest of times. You just have to look,' Her mother's words spoke.

"All-ee" Allison snapped her attention to Sam who was now awake. Leaning against the bars, her mother's teddy in one hand and her favourite blanket in the other.

"Hey there" She smiled. Allison leaned over the cot and picked up Sam before taking her down to the kitchen. A warm glow lit up the room as Allie entered the room. "How about some breakie" She asked sweetly.

"Peas All-ee"

"What shall we have?" Allison asked

"cake" She yelled excitably, Allison smiled, it was a genuine smiled one that had been missing for quite a long time.

"Ok, why don't we make chocolate pancakes?" Allison asked. Sam squealed happily at the thought of chocolate pancakes.

"It's your favourite I know" Allie laughed placing little Sammie into her highchair. Allie smiled as she made pancakes, the sound of Sammie's laugh as she flipped the pancakes and spread funny faces on them once cooked. She laughed at Sammie trying to copy the faces she pulled while cooking. Molly stood in the doorway watching Allison, who was still in her PJ's, playing with Samantha and genuinely smiling. It was something she hadn't seen in a long time.

"Sh" She hushed Remus as he came down the stairs, not wanting to disturb Allie while she was having fun.

"She's genuinely smiling and, in her PJ's," Remus asked shocked. A small part of him still in love with his best friend.

"Are you two going to stand in the doorway all morning or are you going to join us and eat some chocolate pancakes" Allison asked laughing.

"I can't turn down chocolate" Remus laughed. One by one they all got up and joined Allie and Sam in the kitchen for some chocolate pancakes, everyone was laughing and smiling for the first time in a long time. Ron, Ginny, the twins, Authur and Molly, Remus, Tonks and Hermione. Allison noticed Harry was not with them and excused herself to go see him.

"Hey Kiddo" She said quietly "Mind if I come in?"

"ye" Harry muttered

"Can I offer you some chocolate pancakes, it was Sammie's idea" She offered warmly.

"No thanks" he said sluggishly, sat on his bed slouching over and staring at nothing

"Would you like to join us?" Allie asked sweetly, taking a seat next to him and rubbing his back softly.

"No, I'm not in the mood" he sighed heavily

"Do you mind if I give you some advice, then I'll leave you alone..." She said gently

"Go ahead" Allison took a deep breath in, she knew all too well what he was going through because she, herself had gone through it many times.

"Someone I once knew told me that 'Light can always be found in the darkest of times. You just have to look' just something I'd like you to remember" She said sweetly before leaving "Just so you know, you're welcome down stair to join us all"...

Upon returning to the group out the kitchen she noticed Fred and George had sent off a prank and she'd arrived in time to witness it. "I can always count on you two" She smiled. Allison sat down beside Remus and Sammie. She turned to Remus who was chatting with Tonk's.

"Thank you" She smiled. Confused Remus asked why. "You've been through just as much as I have yet despite my actions you still stuck by my side."

A few weeks later the order and Allison gave Sirius and Anastasia the send-off they deserved. Knowing that Sirius and her twin were now at peace and that they were reunited with Family and friends. It made her feel peaceful.

"I'm thankful that you don't have to go through another war" She whispered placing a rose on their glossy, oak coffins.

"Goodbyes are often hard to say, they hurt so much, especially when their stories never got to finish, so treasure what light we can find in these dark times." Allie whispered looking at her sisters coffin, holding her niece close.
