Athena's POV.
I have to tell them. My friends, the only people that stood by my side despite knowing everything about me. They deserve to know what's going on in my life.
I don't know how they'll take it but I have to tell them. I've decided to tell Olivia and Nathan first. I'll tell the others tomorrow.
I made my way to their place. I was nervous. I don't know how they'll react to this. Will they even believe it because I am myself, still trying to process everything.
I pressed the doorbell as Nathan opened up the door. He was looking at me in an odd way. He must be upset. I know because I'd be upset too if the guy I confessed to is taking so much time giving an answer. I don't blame him at all.
"Hey" I said getting in and closing the door behind.
"How are you?" I asked him but he wasn't responding.
"You have guests" he said turning his back on me and walking away.
I followed him as he was making his way to the living room and that's when I almost freaked out. Shit.
He's here. My real dad. Oh my god.
My brothers were also here. I had only met Fazal but today I was seeing the other one as well. He looked much older. Everyone turned their attention to me as I stood there unable to move or speak.
What do I do? What do I say? Why are they here? Why would they show up here in the first place?
"Dear, come and take a seat. You didn't tell me before that your family was looking for you?" Rose spoke.
She didn't look mad however she seemed surprised but she kept her usual welcoming smile.
I took a seat beside Olivia on a separate couch. She took my hand in hers as our eyes met. She was giving me a reassuring look.
"Your father and I have been discussing about you..." Rose added.
"I came to discuss about taking you with us. This woman has been kind enough to take care of you but you can't possibly depend on them for longer. Because we are here and we'll take care of you now." my dad said to me.
This can't be happening right now.
"Name your price and I will compensate you for the time you've taken care of her. It's out of thankfulness only, of course." He said to Rose.
"No please, I won't be taking anything. I've accepted her and taken her with us because to me she is just like a daughter. She's a good friend to my kids and I'm grateful for that. I don't need anything." Rose declined immediately.
"I can take care of myself...actually. I thought I had already made it clear that I don't need you guys. What was the need to show up here? My decision stays the same." I had to speak up.
They all went silent for a moment.
"I need my daughter. I need you Yasmina. I know it's hard for you to accept us but please try to understand—we need you." My dad said.
"Why do you actually need me so bad? Haven't you been living well before you found me? Just leave me alone!" I yelled getting up.
"Stop saying that you need me, stop pretending like I mean something to you because I've been living by myself and suffering by MYSELF this whole time only for you to show up now?! Why?! I don't trust you and I don't want to trust you either!" I exploded in front of everyone.
I kept it in for long enough. It had to come out sooner or later. It was the first time that I had reacted in such a way.
I ran out of the living room and made my way upstairs to cry in Olivia's room.
