It was a gloomy night. No moon lit up the sky and no stars shone. The breeze was warm but the air seemed soggy. Three A.M in the morning, In a dark alleyway in the middle of town, a boy lit a cigarette. His eyes had a certain fire to them and were the colour of ash. He had dark lashes and long fluffy hair that was scraped into a messy bun. He breathed out the smoke and watched it swirl and disintegrate into the air.

A man entered the alleyway he had Big brown eyes and long golden hair his pretty round cheeks smiled as he saw the boy, revealing a set of crooked yellow teeth. He walked toward the boy slowly, with a slight limp, trying to make conversation.

"What's a pretty boy like you doing out here alone?" He inquired.

The boy dropped the cigarette and snuffed it out with his boot. "I just, needed some fresh air" the boy mumbled looking down at his shoes "You can stay if you want, I wouldn't mind the company". The boy took one step towards the man, bringing a finger up and stroking his own bottom lip. The man's eyes traveled up and down the Boys body and his eyes clouded over.

The man's smile widened and his eyes gleamed."I can do more than give you company pretty boy" he teased. His breath smelt of beer and piss. He winked, grabbing the boy's hand.

The boy brought his lips to the man's ear and whispered seductively "What about you turn around so I can show you what I can do". He grabbed the man's waist firmly. The man laughed turning around obediently.

 "Let's see what you got".

The boy took a hand off the man's waist, His lips twisted into a lustful smile. His hands dipped into his pocket and when it re-emerged it was holding a knife. It was sharp, Broad, and heavy. But the boy managed it with ease as if he had done this a thousand times before. "Sorry" he whispered. The man turned around just for the blade to strike him in his heart.

He fell to the ground in agony, screaming out in pain. He clutched the knife trying to stop the bleeding, but was only successful in turning his hands into an alarming shade of scarlet. "What, the fuck" he muttered over and over. He was panicking, kneeling down on the floor a knife embedded deep in his chest. This wasn't how he saw this encounter happening. He had other ideas for that night and none of them involved death. The boy stood over him and bent down to wrench the knife out of the man's chest.

"I'll have that back" he smiled retrieving the knife. " Next time take care before you try and play with "pretty little boys"". The man's chest shuddered and he fell backward to the ground, blood pouring through his fingers. Then his eyes looked almost far away, focusing on nothing yet focusing on everything. He was dead. Scarlet blood flowed like a river from his chest, his face was slack and pale. And all the boy could do was check the dead man's pockets.

He had no time for remorse.

°The News°

The city TVs were all on the same channel. Local News. Three bodies had been found in the last four months. A woman appeared on the screen, she was wearing a well-fit blazer, and her hair was long, curly and dark.

"Breaking news. A man was found dead in the early morning today. The police have identified the man as Marcus Toinerez. They say the boy is yet another victim of the horrific murderer that has yet to be found. He was stabbed to death in one swift move, taken by surprise he was left to bleed out in a cold dark alleyway, spending his last moments alone and in pain. Please take our advice and do not risk leaving your house when it is dark, Lock your doors and never go out alone during the day. Marcus was only 22 years old when his life was taken. Here we have Marcus's sister talking about his short-lived life."

"It's disgusting that someone could take another's life without feeling guilty. Marcus was always there for me when we were younger. Our mother died when I was six, he was ten. Our dad fell heavily into alcoholism but Marcus always protected me from it. When he turned eighteen he didn't hesitate to take me with him as he left to live a better life. And a life that had so much potential was snatched away from us. It would have been his Birthday tomorrow, but he will never get to eat the cake I baked for him."
