Mr. Interruption

Today was a bloody school day. I drag my feet as I shuffle towards my best friend Rose. She had a fake angry face on. "What?" I asked bluntly.

"You're late," she said looking genuinely annoyed. I instantly roll my eyes.

"You're always late I don't want to hear it" I replied. She looked even more annoyed now.

Rose has been my best friend since we were in kindergarten. She is the sister I never had. She understands my behaviour in a way no one else does and manages to put up with it as well. Today Her blonde hair was scraped up messily into two ponytails. Though I couldn't judge how messy she looked when I knew I looked horrific. I don't sleep much at night, I have insomnia,  so I have dark circles under my eyes. My hair remained in, Whatever this mess of a ponytail was called and my uniform had crumpled up.

"Shut up" she stuck her tongue out at me "I'm still taller".

"Height has nothing to do with this situation Rose" I roll my eyes at her childishness "At least I'm not wearing a dress". I smirk as she crosses her arms.

 "It's part of the school uniform, I'm obliged to wear it by our sexist principal" she whines.

Two Boys approach us. "Oi, Were you guys talking about me? Cause you two keep looking at me then looking at each other". I roll my eyes, it seems to. be an action I'm doing alot this morning.

"Shut up Dan not everything's about you, stop being so insecure," Rose says fiercely.

 Dan's friend looked uncomfortable, staring in the other direction as if he couldn't hear what was going on. 

"Come on cupcake no need to be tarty" Dan teased, booping Rose's nose.

 I wanted to throw up.

 "Just go away you bastard and leave us alone" I took a step forward "Why don't you take your friend over there back to the dog pound".

Dan took a step forward as well. "You have a lot of nerve saying that to me-".

"Bite me mutt". 

He raised his hand to hit me but his friend intercepted.

 "What do you think you're doing?" he said sharply." Are you insane? Do you want to get kicked out, just because of these two?" He sounded like a mother telling their small child off for copying their friends.

  "They're pissing me off!" Dan wailed. What a baby, I thought to myself.

"ahem"

All eyes averted to a boy about our age standing opposite our commotion. His face was clean-shaven, but his dark curly hair was thick and unruly. His eyes were as blue as the sky and thunder radiated from his body. "Am I interrupting something?" He said raising an eyebrow. 

Dan's friend shook his head "No we were just leaving". 

He smiled at Rose and me then dragged Dan away, holding him by the  sleeve.

 "Aw, he's really sweet," Rose said smiling. (She has a dimple on one side of her face and loves to show it off).

"Not really" I replied "He did the bare minimum and he only did it so that Dan could stay in school".

The boy who interrupted was walking towards us. I could feel him eyeing us up and down. "Are you two alright?" He asked as if he was concerned. 

"Oh yes we're fine thank you" Rose answered politely.

"We didn't need your help," I said flatly.

He scratched his head smiling awkwardly "Sorry I just-"

"You thought wrong". I cut him off. I can te he thinks he saved us from Dan. It really irks me, he did nothing and he isn't special.
