I woke up in the hospital wing. I looked around the room, and noticed Ginny and Hermione were on one side of my bed while Daphne and Draco were on my other side. Gregory was standing on the end of the bed with a bored look on his face. They were all giving each other evil glares. Well, Ginny and Hermione's glares were meant for Draco and his were meant for Hermione, Ginny, and Greg.

"She's awake!" Ginny whisper yelled, once she noticed my eyes were opened. Everyone's eyes turned to me and their expressions softened instantly.

"W-what happened?" I asked trying to sit up, but failing and laying back down.

"Take it easy, Opal. You took a nasty fall." Daphne whispered. The memories from the the 'fall' suddenly came back to me. I looked straight at Greg who was smirking at me and winked.

"F-fall?" I stuttered, not taking my eyes off of Greg.

"Yes. You fell... remember? Down the steps to the dungeons." Greg said with a fake look of concern.

"I still don't understand how that happened." Hermione said to herself.

"Yea. We left you by the steps to the dungeons, and Fred said he saw you leave with Greg. Angelina said she saw you leave with him too." Ginny furrowed her eyebrows together in deep thought and confusion.

"I-I...how long have I been here?" I changed the subject, keeping my eyes on Greg who was giving Ginny and Hermione an evil glare.

"A couple of hours." Hermione answered.

I looked at her. "Is it over?" I whispered.

She gave me a sad look. She then turned to Ginny.

"I'm sorry, Opal." Ginny whispered placing a soft hand on my shoulder.

"I think we should let Opal rest." Daphne said after giving my hand a light squeeze.

Greg walked up to me and brought his hand up to caress my cheek. I flinched as he did, earning questioning looks from the others in the room.

"She must still be shaken up from the fall." Greg said, smiling softly. He gave me a kiss on the cheek before turning and leaving with Daphne, Ginny, and Hermione.

I let out a shaky breath before I realized there was someone standing behind a curtain. It was Draco.

He came and sat in a chair beside my bed.

"Why were you hiding?" I asked softly.

He smiled. "I don't think Gregory would have let me stay if he'd seen me."

I didn't answer. We sat there in a comfortable silence, which he broke after a few minutes.

"What's over?" He asked quietly.

I gave him a questioning look. "What?"

"You asked Granger if something was over. What was it?" He asked curiously, tilting his head in the process.

I let out a quiet breath before answering. "The ball."

"The ball?" He repeated.

I nodded. "Ever since I found out about it, I was so excited to go. This was suppose to be my first dance. It's all I've been thinking about for the past few weeks. I've been looking forward to having that special dance. Like I've read about in fairytales when I was a kid... But he had to ruin everything." I said the last part more to myself.

"He? Who?" Draco asked quickly.

"What? No I meant... Nothing. N-no one." I stuttered. I didn't dare look into his eyes.

He didn't say anything, but I could feel his eyes on me.

"You look beautiful, Opal." He whispered. I turned to look at him and he was staring right into my eyes. His silver eyes were mesmerizing.

"Thanks." I whispered, blushing slightly.

"You do. You look stunning. I saw you coming up the steps from the dungeons. No one could keep their eyes off of you. Weasel and Finnigan were drooling." He said, smiling.

I laughed at his last comment. "Yea right. Everyone was captivated by Hermione. Ginny and Daphne looked amazing too. They couldn't keep their eyes off of all of us. Not just me."

"I couldn't keep my eyes off of you." He whispered. "You were the prettiest girl there."

"What about Pansy? She looked-"

"Are you kidding? She looked like a toad." He laughed.

I gave a quiet gasp. "Draco! That's so mean. Don't say that."

"Did you see her?" He cringed.

"Yes. Actually I did. I don't think she looked that bad. She looked beautiful. She just needed the prince instead of the frog." I joked.

He put his hand on his heart. "I'm hurt, Opal. You really hurt my feelings." He said sarcastically.

"Oh shut up." I laughed. "You do look quite handsome though."

He rose his eyebrows at me and smirked. "So now you love me?"

"What!? No! I never said that." I laughed.

"You were thinking it, Heart." He joked, wiggling his eyebrows.

"In your dreams, Malfoy." I scoffed.

He was quiet for a few seconds before he stood up and held his hand out to me.

"What?" I asked curiously, looking at his hand.

"I'll give you that special dance." He said, quietly.

I just sat there, shocked but I could feel the butterflies in my tummy. I was looking in his beautiful silver eyes as I gently put my hand in his and he helped me get up. I nearly lost my balance due to the dizziness I felt, but I felt two hands on my waist help me stand.

I looked up and my face was only inches away from his. I felt my face heat up.

He smiled at me. "Blushing, again, are we?"

I rolled my eyes at him. He then took out his wand and flicked it. The lights faded and there was slow music playing in the background.

I smiled and grabbed my wand from the table beside my bed. I flicked mine and thousands of tiny lights escaped from the tip of my wand, just like it had at Mr. Ollivanders shop.

Draco's eyes widened as he looked at all the lights dancing around us. I put my wand on the bed and he held his hand out to me again and bowed.

"May I have this dance?" He asked, all gentleman like.

"Why, of coarse you may." I replied, smiling and taking a small curtsy.

I took his hand and he lead me to the middle of the room. He placed his hands gently on my waist, while I wrapped mine around his neck.

We swayed to the beat of the music. We danced for what seemed like eternity, just looking into each other's eyes. After a while,my eyes started getting tired. I leaned my head on his chest and he pulled me in closer to him, his hands wrapped tightly around my waist as if I were going to fly out of his grasp.

Who knows how long we danced. We were interrupted by the sound of the back door opening. I rose my head up and turned to look at the door along with Draco.

"How are you feel-" Madame Pomfrey stopped talking when she saw us. "Oh my. So sorry to interrupt. I'll...just be going." She smiled sweetly at us before walking away.

I looked up at Draco and locked eyes with him. His eyes were kind, something that he didn't show much.

He gave me a small smile, and slowly leaned his head down to mine until his lips were only centimeters away from mine.

'This is it, Opal. Your first kiss." I thought. I closed my eyes and waited for his lips to touch my own.
