Chap 4.

Matt Pov🪞

I told Edd about having Mark stay here. He wasn't too happy, but I'm sure he'll get over in a few days. To be honest, I don't think he really cared. Right now, he's focused on his cat Ringo, who isn't doing too well right now. Then again, she is pretty old. I'd say about 15 or so. If she dies, then it's most likely Edd will shut himself in his room for god knows how long.

Anyway, getting Mark settled in was a confusing process. He wouldn't talk much since his argument with the Green Troll. I was going to let him have Tom's old room, but I forgot I turned that into my mirror room, so I guess he'll have to either share a room with me or sleep on the couch. The first night he stayed over, he slept on the couch, and all I heard the next morning was him complaining about his back. The second night, he took my bed, leaving me to sleep on the floor. Having Mark stay over wasn't how I thought it was gonna go.

I am learning some interesting things about him. He speaks French, which I find godly. And he hates rabbits. I found that out when Edd and I brought home a rabbit. We spent all afternoon trying to pry Mark off the ceiling (don't ask how he got up there.) I've also noticed how my crush on him is getting bigger. I think he's noticed because of my behavior. Fuck.

Mark Pov📚

My stay with Matt and his cat friend has been interesting. Matt has been acting weird though. Sometimes he'll stare at me when I'm eating, but when I turn to look at him, he'll turn away and look at the wall. Or he'll randomly hug me from behind. I must admit, he's sweet and all, but from what I've seen in Jon's old romantic comedies, he might like me. 

I don't know how I feel about that. I haven't really dated anyone ever since Skye died. And I vowed to myself I'd never find anyone as good as her. But maybe, if my theory is correct, I can have a shot at a relationship again. If nothing bad happens..
