Matt Pov🪞

Mark and I haven't spoken since the day he gave me that kiss. I wanted to talk to him, but Edd wanted me to do a million chores all of a sudden. I wonder if he knew. Probably not, or else he would have kicked Mark out by now.

I decided the only way to confront Mark was to talk to him at his job. Though he wouldn't be so pleased.

-Time skip-

I arrived at the bookstore 15 minutes after Mark clocked in. I went in here multiple times, not because I love books. It was usually because I would watch Mark put books on shelves or complain to me because I don't buy anything in the store.

I looked for Mark and found him in the break room sipping a coffee. Dude just got there and made a beeline for the coffee. I giggled and peeked in the room. "Markie!~" Mark glanced at me and nearly spit out his coffee. "Matt?!" I laughed and hugged him. "I came to visit you!" Mark reluctantly hugged back. I could tell this is the last place he wanted to see me. But I had to make him stop acting like the kiss never happened. I let go of him. "Mark..About the other day.." Mark stiffened and looked down. "Hey. I made a move. It would have taken you decades to do something." I blushed and rubbed my arm. "So are we?.." Mark shrugged. "If you want us to be. I don't mind." I looked up at him and noticed that he seemed a bit afraid. Why would someone be afraid? I wanted to ask but he cut me off. "Hey, I'll be on lunch break in about an hour or two. Why don't you help me out with stuff?"

And that's how I spent the rest of my day. I actually had fun. The only part that weirded me out was when this strange man came and requested to see Mark. Mark came out, took one look at the man, and called security (hush this bookstore got some security to it)  To me, it was odd. The man was escorted out. I also noticed he dressed funny. He has a bunch of bandaids and smiley faces on his face, black glasses, a red flannel, black and pink roller skates, and black shorts. He kinda looked familiar, but again everyone was familiar in this town.

I asked Mark about the man when we went home, but he refused to talk about him. We sat in silence for most of the car ride. I soon got tired and leaned on Mark's shoulder. He glanced at me then back on the road. "You're gonna make me crash one day, sir." I giggled and covered his eyes. He stomped on the breaks. "MATT!" I removed my hand and laughed. Mark got too worked up way too easily. Mark started the car again and sighed. "Maybe we should go back to being enemies." I gasped then kissed his cheek. "Quit complaining, you grump." Mark chuckled and went back to driving, making sure I don't cover his eyes again. I grew sleepy and fell asleep.

(Making this chapter was fun. I need to make more chapters like this lol)
