Chapter 2

Y/N WHITE

I looked up and noticed everyone staring at me, especially the Erudite faction. I felt so much pressure on my back. I was also still thinking about what to choose. I did my thinking last night and ruled out Candor, Abnegation and Amity. Now it was just a matter of choosing between Dauntless and Erudite. I knew that I was an adrenaline junkie, but I also had such a good reputation in Erudite and I would become their new leader if Jeanine passed away.

My thoughts were messing up my brain, but I still managed to walk up to the stage with a determined look on my face. Marcus gave me the knife and I slowly took it in my hands. I looked over the Erudite bowl and the Dauntless bowl and cut my hand. I squeezed my palm and then let my blood fall over the Dauntless bowl.

I could hear people gasping while I made my way to Dauntless. I stood next to my twin and gave her a sly smile. With an amused tone  she told me "Well, I did not expect that, but at least we can help each other out" I chuckled and told her "Yeah, but let's keep the sister relationship a secret until we are done" "Of course" We watched as a few other kids made their choice and I looked back at the Erudite faction. My friends were smiling at me like they knew I would make this choice. They also has tears in their eyes. I smiled back and blew them a kiss, while they waved at me. After a while, the Ceremony ended and the Dauntless started running out of the room. We took the stairs and started running in the streets. I felt so alive. I was laughing and cheering with the other new transfers. Then, we saw a train coming over to us, and it hit me. I had to jump onto a moving train. I breathed slowly and as the train approached, I took a leap and landed in the train. I put myself again the wall and started laughing to myself. I was relieved and then I started thinking, this must be a test. I heard that Dauntless makes you go to rigorous training, and this must have been a test.

As I sat against the wall by myself, I saw a guy approach me slowly. I noticed his clothes and figured he was Dauntless. He started introducing himself with a slight smile "Hey, I'm Uriah." I stuck my hand out and said "Y/n, nice to meet you" He chuckled, and shook my hand. "Well, you seem like bold person" I laughed softly "I guess I am" He turned around and pointed at 2 people who were slowly coming over to us. When they arrived right next to us, he gestured at the 2 girls and said "This is Marlene and Lynn" "I nodded my head "Hey I'm Y/n"

As soon as those words left my mouth Marlene started praising my skin while Lynn gave me a judging look. We talked during the whole train ride. I learned new things about them like the fact that Lynn was quite a cold person, so she must have gotten a liking to me since she was quite nice. I also noticed how Marlene and Uriah would flirt all the time. I think they like each other.

While me and the girls were sitting talking to each other Uriah was looking out of the train. After a while he looked at us and said it looked like we were going to have to jump. The train approached the destination and Uriah took a leap. At the same time, I noticed plenty of people jumping out of the train. So, I took a deep breath and jumped. I landed on my feet; damn was I good. I noticed plenty of people hitting the floors and saw my twin Beatrice who fell and injured her arm. I gave her a big smile and she smiled back. She must have jumped in a different compartment of the train. When everybody started standing up, I realized everyone made it until I heard a high pitch scream of a girl. I turned around to see a boy trying to comfort a girl while crying, she looked hysterical. I looked over the edge and saw a Dauntless girl laying in a weird position. It made my heart beat very quickly, and I realized, even the Dauntless born are not safe. Everybody started looking around awkwardly until, a blond man with a few tats appeared and told everyone to gather up.

 We made our way to him, and he started introducing himself, with this arrogant attitude "Welcome initiates, my name is Eric, I am a Dauntless leader and we be overlooking your training. Also, congratulations, you have made it to the Dauntless Headquarters, now you will have to get in. To do that you will have to jump down into that hole"

I could not believe we were so high on top of a building, and he just expected us to jump down!? I wasn't the only shocked one. A girl from Candor asked if there was a net in the bottom and Eric looked at her with a smug look and told her "Guess you have to jump to see''
