If he was the light, she was the darkness,
If he was the virtue, she was the evil,
If he was the day, she was the night, and
If he was living, she wasn't dead either...

Chapter 1: The luck he had
"Yeah, I know mom, I'll take care of myself." The raven haired teen assured his mother who was worried sick for him.
"But Ash, you haven't gotten a bus yet! How will you come home in this darkness?" His mother, Delia, asked, worried.
"Mom, I am not a child anymore, I will just walk if I don't get a bus." Ash said, annoyed at the lack of transportation.
"Honey, you're miles away.." Delia told him.
"Mom, as I said, I am grown up now. Go enjoy your trip, I'll be back before you." Ash assured her.
"Of course, you will. Hiking up the Ranavy Mountains takes days, even months. I hope for you to come back by then." Delia stated.
"I will, mom. You absolutely don't have to worry, I know how to take care of myself. You do too." Ash told her reassuringly.
Delia was always worried about her one and only son, her only reason for living. Without him, she wouldn't be able to think how miserable her life would've been. Losing his father at a young age, Ash deserved to be called strong. Not that he ever saw his dad to begin with, no memory of him, his fate had planned for no fatherhood for Ash. As years progressed by, Ash grew more closer to his mother, being in her shade all the time. She never let him out for long, even once, until recently.
Ash had decided to take a small vacation to The AmberWoods Station. A place full of enjoyment, amazing houses, amazing weather, amazing landscapes, you name it. He wanted to get out of his mother's comfort for once and explore the outside world, which he succeeded in doing.
But a little overeating accident caused Ash to be stuck at the AmberWoods. He over-ate his lunch a little, and then slept, missing his train in the process. There are one or two to no modes of transportation after evening. Ash was supposed to be home today while Delia would leave for her hiking trip with neighbors at the Ravany Mountains. She wanted to make sure her son was okay for the days coming of her not being there at home before she went for her trip.
"Come back soon, okay? I'd have no range there and don't really expect a call from me, I might try once in a while though." Delia instructed him.
"Yes, mom."
"Bye honey...wait. You're still staying at your hotel, right? Your staying period might be over, did you request for a new one?" Delia asked as the question popped up in her head.
"I did, don't worry about me. Now come on, go." Ash told her.
"Alright. Bye, Ash."
"Bye, mom." And he hung up. Ash kept staring at his phone only for a few minutes, breathing cold from his nose.
He digested the information that he just lied to his own mother. His hotel stay was over, and when he requested to renew it, he was told that all rooms were full, including his. He checked at every possible dorm and hotel there was at AmberWoods, but no luck. So here he was right now, sitting on a bench out in the cold, snuggling closer to his rather thin jacket, surrounded by fairy lights everywhere, indicating Christmas was near. Early December was apparently the best time one could visit AmberWoods, and Ash had done exactly that.
