Chapter 6: The trouble he witnessed
"What is this place? Who was that monster? Is he still there? How did everything change? Why is this here? Who are you? What's going on?" Ash asked in one breath.
"One at a time."
"Okay. Is the monster gone?" Ash asked.
"Yes."
"Are you hurt?"
"No."
"What's this place?"
"A hallway of a palace."
"How did everything change?"
"It just did."
"Why is this here?"
"Because it is."
"Who are you?"
"Misty."
"What's going on?"
"Many things."
"Misty."
"Ash."
"Can you answer properly at least ONCE?" Ash raised his voice a bit. Misty raised an eyebrow.
"You have no right to scream at me in my own palace, in front of my own bedroom." Misty said, crossing her arms. Ash let the new information sink in. He remained calm since he knew he needed to be, more things were gonna come out to him at that time.
"How is there even a palace here?" Ash asked.
"It's just supposed to be." Misty answered, shrugging.
"Misty."
"Ash."
"That's all you've got? I don't think so." Ash said, crossing his arms.
"Hold on a second." Misty said as she went behind Ash again and placed her hand on his eyes. He remained quiet, waiting for Misty to do what she was doing. She retreated her hand. After opening his eyes, Ash saw the glamor, the color, the beautifulness of the place again. Everything he had seen had come back to its place, as if the dead scene he had witnessed just a moment ago never existed.
"I thought you wouldn't want to have a long discussion at an abandoned creepy place. Might as well change your vision." Misty answered before Ash could ask her, shrugging.
"How can that happen?" Ash asked in a small voice.
"You see, when I keep my hand on your eyes, I share my vision with you. So you see what I see. Although you can change back to normal, I can't. I am still seeing all those things you saw a moment ago." Misty explained, a bit of sadness in her eyes.
Ash figured, that explained her unacknowledgement towards these beautiful things. She couldn't see them, while he could.
"What happened here?" Ash asked. As soon as he asked this question, he saw Misty stiffen a bit.
"It's a really long story." Misty said in a steady tone. "A story for later."
"And finally, what exactly are you?" Ash asked, moving on from his unanswered question, thinking it might be something too personal for Misty. Although he really wanted to know it, he knew he'd get to know it sooner or later.
Misty raised an eyebrow at Ash, which made him say, "You were very, I mean very calm while that demon was just there moving towards you. You live in a big house alone that no one knows about. You have a palace that's creepy and dead but elegant and beautiful at the same time. What exactly are you? Vampire? Werewolf? A queen of the lost kingdom? A very rich mafia leader? Drug dealer?" Ash spilled his thoughts.
