Chapter 2: The life he lived
"What do we have here?" Someone said, Ash jumped up and screamed when he saw the source of the voice.
"The hell? Where did you come from?" Ash asked as he kept a hand on his heart, trying to calm it's fast beats down. When he did, he looked at the girl, taking in her form.
White hoodie, black ripped jeans, certain types of small rings on both her fingers, a make-up free face, but still beautiful. Orange blonde hair occupied her head, flowing down till her shoulder. A hair clip kept her flicks from resting on her face and interrupting her sight. She had a lollipop in her mouth.
"I could ask the same to you." She said monotonously, slowly sucking her lollipop.
Ash thought that she might be the house owner, so he decided to act all sweet and make her let him stay there until something could be done.
"Uh yeah, excuse me please. I'm a normal boy who had decided for a small trip here and was scheduled to go home today. But for some reason I missed my train, and now I am stuck here. My hotel stay had expired and when I asked them for another one, they apologized saying everything was full. Same with the other hotels. For a long time now, I was sitting at a bench in the main area, but then decided to take a stroll and ended up here." Ash explained everything since the start.
The girl glanced at him up and down, and then started pacing from one side to another.
"So you can see this house?" She asked Ash.
"Huh? Uh, yeah. I can. Why?" Ash answered, confused.
"Nevermind. What's your name?" The unknown girl asked again.
"Ketchum...Ash Ketchum." Ash replied.
"So, Ketchum Ash Ketchum," The girl said, smirking while still sucking her lollipop, "Why do you think I'd let you live here?"
"Because you seem like a very nice girl by heart and I am sure you are as well." Ash said, trying to butter her up.
"You're in a big misunderstanding, boy." She began. "Never judge things just by the outside." She said, opening a door and going inside. Ash decided to follow her. She went inside and sat on the couch. Ash looked around, it was the living room, very big apparently. It had an elegant chandelier in the middle of the ceiling. Had many daily essentials, a television, coffee table, some lights here and there, it was almost like a normal person's living room.
"Can you please let me though? I swear I will mind my own business." Ash pleaded with her. She looked at him straight, appearing to be thinking.
"Fine then, you can. But," She said, standing up, looking at Ash, and then in a second she was in front of him. While Ash was shocked and wondering how she could come up so fast, she continued.
"If you meddle with my business, I swear it'll be your last day on Earth." The girl said in a dangerously threatening but calm voice, her tone screaming death. Ash gulped hard as he slightly nodded, a little uncomfortable with her being this close to his face.
She went back to her position when Ash exhaled a breath he didn't know he was holding. He looked at the girl awkwardly, wanting to do something and not just stand there staring around. He wondered if he could sit down, but decided against it.
"What would be the rent?" Ash finally asked after a moment of silence.
"You wanna pay rent?" The girl asked, averting her gaze to the still confused boy, trying to figure out what place that was.
"Were you gonna let me live here for free?" Ash asked back.
"I was thinking of it..." She replied, nodding and appeared to be thinking while looking at the ground, "but since you insist on paying, you're free to do so." She added.
