Chapter 17: The observation he did
~
Ash found himself in the familiar wall room again. He could hear the crowd outside moving on with their dairy chores loudly, cheerfully, and actively.
Beautiful scenes came in his area of vision as he went out of the square of walls and blended in with the crowd, deciding to pick up any trash in order to make people think he was one of them and no one suspicious.
As Ash started walking around, occasionally adding a piece of trash to his collection, he took sight of the biggest palace he had ever seen.
"Woah.." Ash stared at it with his mouth open in intrigue. He wondered how breathtaking and glamorous it would be looking from inside.
He slowly made way towards the palace. He knew Misty would be there, and to see her, he had to be there too. He rarely bumped into people, and when he did, he just bowed, muttering a small 'sorry.' Those people were kind enough to go on minding their own business.
As he reached near and nearer, he saw an old grandma struggling with carrying something while her group went ahead, not paying attention to the poor lady. Ash quickly went towards her.
As she acknowledged Ash's presence, she spoke to him. "What doth thee wanteth, sweet issue?" (What do you want, sweet child?")
Ash had figured people spoke ancient English here. He was glad he had paid attention to his English class in high school.
"Alloweth me holp thee with yond." ("Let me help you with that.") Ash replied, taking the luggage off her shoulders to his, flashing a soft smile to the woman after.
"Thou art so kind." ("You're so kind.") The lady smiled back sweetly at Ash, and began walking ahead with her hands holding each other behind her back. Ash followed her.
"Wh're art thee going with this?" ("Where are you going with this?") Ash asked the sweet lady. She locked her gaze with the bright beautiful palace that stood way high up, them being near to the tall building.
"To the palace." She answered him. Ash was shocked, but kept his cool. He was dancing inside over how his luck had finally become good and that he would be able to go to the palace without harm or suspicion.
Kindness paid off.
As soon as they reached the entrance, Ash kept himself from gazing at the palace in awe. He didn't want to come off as suspicious. Although it really was beautiful, there was no denial in that.
As they were going around the huge empire, Ash felt someone move at the corner of his eye. He looked in that direction, but of course, found no one. He brushed it off, thinking it might be someone from the guards.
He kept following the old grandma till the pantry where all the goodies were kept. She instructed him to keep them down.
"Thee can stroll 'round h're, we're going to beest h're f'r some timeth." ("You can stroll around here, we're going to be here for some time.") Granny told him. Ash nodded and bowed to her, slowly walking away.
This was his chance. He could meet Misty, he could find something, he could reveal some secrets, anything could happen at that moment. Everything was new to him.
