The chills ran down on her neck.
She saw whoever this one, sitting a couple of feet across her is an uncanny man. He spoke words in an uncompromisingly forthright manner, presumptuous and almost lacking a sense of empathy.
His lips would always curl upwards, trying hard to look friendly as possible yet Rei can read the meaning behind that malicious smile he carries.
It was the most fraudulent smile she had ever seen and it holds great danger.
A weird mixture of feelings was flooding through her. With muddled thoughts and butterflies in her stomach, Rei sees Doma's distinct eyes, glued on her.
The more he affixed his eyes on her, the more frightened she gets.
It made her hold her breath.
Rei uneasily stood up on her seat. Her breathing turned labour along with the sudden rushing of her adrenaline, she fidgets her shuddering fingers on the fabric of her dress, planning a way to hastily get rid of the eerie man's presence out of her sight.
She can still feel him unfalteringly looking in her direction and this squandered the ounce of relief inside her terrified mind.
Rei musters her fading courage to air her authority as she turned her face away and dart her eyes to the old butler.
She pass a decisive order through the act of eye gesture and in instant, the butler understood what she has implied.
The old aged butler cleared his throat and made his way to lean his back forward to the male guest. He checked his pocket watch and bore his attention to Doma.
"Please excuse my intervention," He uttered, glancing at the same time. His wrinkled face keeps up a smile.
"It's a pleasure to converse with you sir Doma but I am afraid it is getting late and the hour you visited Madame and master Tsukihiko is not at the proper time." He further spoke in a benign demeanour, clearly suggesting for him to take his leave.
But Doma's attention towards Rei was unswayed, disinterested with anything else solely focused on her face.
Rei turned disgusted and alarmed. Her brows furrowed in exasperation when she caught that there was something sinister about the way his multicoloured eyes with gleam under the florescent lights.
Rei's breath hitched as she lifted her chin, trying to immediately mask the fear she felt with great determination. Thinking that perhaps if she pretended to act unaffected, she can deceive the fear she felt for him and she would be left unharmed. After all, Her husband was there. Muzan's presence will put her to safety. Rei is certain he won't let anything perilous come about to her.
'This could be some test Tsukihiko is trying to set out on me.' She gazed at the male Kibutsuji with her brown eyes shimmering with trust towards him.
She can now distinctly see that this time, Muzan managed to quell his fury.
The things he had flung and smashed on the floor due to his sudden anger wreaked havoc. It terrified the maids and brought a chaotic jumble to the place, but now he's changed into an impassive man with a stoic expression. He stood rigid on his stance while he faces his back on the huge covered arch window.
Earlier, he displays a volatile attitude but now, Rei noticed Muzan seemed to be acting differently. Completely occupied deep in his thoughts, unbothered by the nuisance noise caused by the noble visitor that he had brought to disturb the break of the day. It puts her into an understanding, it looks like nothing can interrupt his deep serious contemplation.
