Sitting at the end of the room on the cushion upon the floor, The messenger entered and walked with his head bowed before taking a seat across the Mizuno clan leader.
Fumihiro rested his bare fist on his lap whilst he sat with his legs crossed together. A thick grimace grave on his face and dark steel eyes strictly, looking at the summoned male messenger.
"I was very wrong."
"I shouldn't have trusted that boy." Fumihiro muttered. His deep voice held with utter regret and disappointment. He despairingly sigh, repressing his building anger as he crumpled his tight fist, showing his white knuckles together.
He escape a lowly growl and slowly shook his head. The male messenger resume to lower his gaze on the wooden floor and purse his lips in silence.
"I have never thought he could badly get this far." He trails and huffed his breath, thinking how he was very incorrect for expecting too much from his previous high ranked samurai warrior.
"I am aware that boy have longed fancied my youngest daughter," He continue to speak as the messenger attentively listens to Fumihiro.
"But I put a blind eye of that." He propped his elbow on the short wooden table whilst he let his palm rest on the side of his throbbing head.
"That boy Taoshu, Not in my whole life I've ever assumed he was going to defy my commands." He gritted his teeth and his brows knit, outraged.
"He was my trusted samurai warrior. More like a son to me already." He hardly swallowed his breath as the messenger slowly glance on the hurt and angered eyes of the Mizuno leader.
"But because of his high ambition of claiming y/n, he turned his back at me and disregarded my orders." Fumihiro continue to speak. His fist shaking in fury as he thump his hand on the wooden table and huffed.
"Master, That boy is a dunce." The male messenger blurted out and in instant, Fumihiro landed his stare towards his subordinate.
"From the beginning. He should have known where to place himself. He was just a mere bushi guard," He commended.
"And not a single strand of his hair was ever worthy for your youngest daughter."
"For he was an offspring of a lowly peasant and his bloodline came from a downgraded household." The messenger stated his remarks and insults.
"He was an utter fool, Fumihiro-sama. To defy a high noble man like you; who only did was to give him the current status, power and respect."
"But what did he do? He did not value any of it and instead he neglected it all." He finished with such dislike and disgust, brooding from the messenger man's voice.
"Taoshu let his guard down," Fumihiro prompted as he swiftly gestured the present maid to refill his porcelain cup with sake.
"He let his feelings towards my daughter ruined his being." Fumihiro continues. He crossed his both robust arms though his chest. He gently pushed the filled cup with sake at the messenger. He gestured his hand to take the beverage and the other man gladly accepted it.
"Muzan-sama is indeed an oppressed man. He never renounce a challenge the moment his ego is being affronted." The messenger quietly says.
He formally let his hand cupped the porcelain and flew the brim through his lips. In the other hand, Fumihiro briefly closed his eyes in aggravation and sighed.
"That is why I needed that bastard's power." He replied between his grind teeth as he was in wrath, giving a dire look straight to the messenger.
"I am running out of time now. I cannot let Muzan cancel the marriage, now that Taoshu has already ruined everything." Fumihiro was seething, making the present maid move her both feet backwards whilst the messenger gulp his drink and nervously placed back the empty porcelain cup on the short wooden table.
