What happens in the future

Ch-4 You are me, I am you

Mahi went out of the door and went to his right to find maybe someone.
As he was walking he abruptly stopped seeing the person coming towards him.
He blinked his eyes a few times just to make sure that what he was seeing was right.
He saw himself in front of him.
The person whoever he was looked exactly like him and the walking style was also same.

The person who was coming towards him also stopped and stared at mahi.
"Wh....who are you?" The person asked.
'this can't be a part of the prank' mahi thought as he was also sounding exactly like him.
"I should ask you that, who are you?" Mahi counter questioned not understanding what was happening.
"Tell me who are you?" The Person again asked. "You are an impostor aren't you? Who has brought you here?" He added.

"I am not an impostor, you are." Mahi answered.
"See if you don't tell me I will just call the management and ask them to take you out." The person said.

Mahi thought about what was happening. 'what if you are really in the future?' the voice inside him asked.
He hesitesd but asked the person "which year is this?"

"What?" The person asked confused at the question.
"Please show me the calender in your phone and I will tell you who I am."
The person hesitated but then took out his phone and opened the calender and showed it to mahi.

Mahi couldn't believe the date he saw. It was 2nd April, 2018 exactly two years after he had tried the watch.
"This can't be real" he whispered to himself still staring at the phone in his future self's hand.

The future mahi quickly kept the phone in his pocket and asked "now tell me who are you and why you wanted to see the date."

Mahi knew he wouldn't believe because he knew himself but then also he explained the whole story of a fan giving him a watch and everything.
The 2018 mahi looked at him like he had gone made and it wasn't surprising because who would believe that mahi had just travelled in to the future.

"Dont make up stories and tell me the truth" his future self warned him.
"I am not making stories. Okay do one thing, ask me anything that only you know from childhood upto 2016" mahi said.

His future self thought about it for a while and then decided to try it.
"Okay I will ask you some questions, if you answer everyone of them properly then I will believe you" he said.

Mahi nodded but then said "maybe we should go in your room."
"Okay let's go"
They both went to their room where the future mahi was staying and closed the door.
"Okay so question no 1" he started "how did I feel after my first run out in the debut game?and then who helped to come out of that feeling?"

Mahi thought and then answered "sad,emotional, lost a little hope, felt like I will not get a second chance and even if I get I don't deserve to be here, there are others in competition who deserve it more and then dada came that night to the room and told that it was okay, and even the best players have gone through bad debut games but what made them champion was that they fought back, hard" mahi said all this remembering dada's every word and how it gave him more strength and even though few more games went bad, dada always reapeated the same thing and it always gave him the hope.

His future self looked at him as he had spoken exactly the same words. He came out of his shock and decided to try asking other questions.

"What was the feeling after winning the 2011 world cup and was there any special conversation with anyone?"

Mahi smiled a little hearing about the 2011 world cup and answered "we were happy, excited, it was just unbelievable that we had finally done it. After hearing again and again from people that you have to win it, holding the world cup in hands was a different feeling that has  never been felt before or after.
And the special conversation was with sonnu that night, both still not believing that we have done it and smiling like mad and talking with each other the whole night of course with little interventions of yuvi."

"Are you really from the past?" His future self asked after hearing such details of each answer. They were right and to the point. And it was not possible that someone was acting because they both looked the same, sounded the same and walked with same style.

"Show me your batting and bowling style" he said to take one more test.
Mahi did what he always did and it was perfect.
"How is it even possible?" His future self asked "how can someone come from past?"
"It means you believe me?"
"I guess, you have done no mistakes till now. But this is just unbelievable, I mean time travel? How?"
"I have no idea" mahi said. "Its good though. And by the way has soemthing happened between us....you and virat?"
"Huh why do you ask?" The future mahi asked taken aback by the sudden question.

Mahi told him about what happened when he went to virat's room thinking that it was a prank.
"He sounded so rude and....different."
"Nothing it's just a small thing" his future self answered quickly.
"Are you sure? It didn't look like a small thing due to his tone."
"It dosent matter if it was big or small, I don't think you are supposed to know the future."
"I know but if you tell me I can make sure that whatever the misunderstanding was doesn't happen between me and cheeku again."

"It's just a small thing, I think you should leave."
"I am sorry but I think I am going to stay here for some time, this watch only works one time."
The future mahi sighed "you are so stubborn"
"I am you remember? Just two years back."
"I know, well if you want to stay just dont ask question about anything and just be careful that no one sees you. Because already virat will have questions about the weird conversation he had with you or for him me, but luckily for now he will not ask me anything so we are safe."

"Why won't he ask questions?"
"Because as I told we are having a small misunderstanding"
"About what?"
"I just now said no questions." Then he looked at his watch and said "okay i have to leave now. I have to go for lunch with Ekansh."
"Who's Ekansh?" Mahi asked curiously.
"A new bowler you will meet soon."
"Is he good?"
"With some more guidance he can become excellent. So bye i am going and please be careful." Saying this the future mahi went out of the room.
