As the months flew by you settled into your life more and more. You felt comfortable in your room, you knew how to navigate the Academy, and you were getting along well with everyone in the lab. They'd even given you a key after you showed up too early a few too many times.

You often walked with Sky to get food and she offered to bring you on other errands around the city, showing you all that Piltover had to offer. The city was magnificent, beautiful architecture and amazingly extravagant outfits worn by the city's inhabitants often gave you and Sky something to giggle about. You'd enjoyed your friendship with her. You weren't sharing your deepest darkest secrets, but the companionship of another girl when you were almost constantly surrounded by men was not something you were taking for granted. As nice as Jayce and Viktor were, it was nice to talk to another girl too. Having Sky show you around the city had helped get you outside more, which was something you were a little too afraid to do on your own. Viktor already did so much for you, you couldn't possibly ask him to do more, and you and Jayce got along well but you had a feeling that walking around the city with him one-on-one would get a little awkward.

You spent plenty of time with Viktor still, your friendship growing steadily. You tried to use your magic to very little success. In total, you'd managed to break another glass while trying to hover the paper beside it and threw a potted plant out an open window. Each time you'd found yourself overwhelming frustrated and that familiar explosion in your chest took over and ruined your attempts. You were trying to think happy thoughts, but you had very limited memories to choose from. Your past was still almost a complete mystery to you, and you were starting to find that you didn't care much for trying to figure it out. You were curious but your anxiety took over. You could have been a terrible person for all you know. Maybe being a Motus Mage here is the same as being a Puppy Kicker back on your world. You don't think you were, but you couldn't be sure. Best to let the past rest.

While your memories were safely stored away, there hadn't been anything particularly exciting in the present either. You felt defeated, the only reason you kept trying was Viktor's gentle encouragements. How could you give up when he so easily believed in you? You couldn't disappoint him like that.

You hadn't had any more visions but you had had a few concerning dreams. After having multiple in a row of the little girl with blue hair learning to fight from the man with the black and yellow eye you had seen in your first nightmare, you asked Viktor about it. You were pretty sure they were in the Undercity, and while it was a large place, you had been hoping he may have some idea as to who they were. Unfortunately, he did not, but he promised to keep an ear out for people matching that description. At least the girl seemed well taken care of, she was fed and she looked clean, but you weren't sure how healthy it was to let a child use a gun and make bombs. You were pretty sure that wasn't going to be in a parenting book.

It was a few months into your stay in Piltover when it was announced that the Winter Solstice holiday season was approaching. You had vague memories of celebrating something similar on your world, sharing gifts and good food, you just couldn't remember which particular holiday it was, nor most of the details. You'd tried using those vague memories to fuel your magic, but it mostly made you feel sad for the life you had lost. Did Puppy Kickers get happy holidays?

By the time the Winter Solstice day arrived, most of the Academy was empty. Jayce and Sky had gone home to their families and the lab was to be closed over the winter break week. You didn't know what Viktor's plans were as he hadn't discussed them around you, but you were sure he'd be busy with his own celebrations. You didn't know what you were going to do with your week, but Sky had been kind enough to give you a small present containing a beginner's science kit. You'd laughed when she'd given it to you on your walk home one evening and she was relieved that you hadn't taken it the wrong way.
