The words were swimming on the page before you as you tried with little result to cram more of the confusing alphabet into your head. The numbers hadn't been too hard, there were only ten of them and you'd made that your priority so that you could finally read your clock. Yet two weeks later you were still struggling to grasp the written language. You didn't know how long it took most people to understand a new alphabet, but you were upset you hadn't mastered it perfectly on your first shot, as unrealistic as that was. Thankfully, the people around you were helpful, offering tips and tricks. Viktor had taken to quiz you at random with different words he had written to keep you on your toes. You were a little embarrassed that you still struggled to read, but you knew your alphabet perfectly so it wasn't like you couldn't read at all, you just needed to be more patient with yourself. It didn't help that you were also pressuring yourself to figure out what your visions meant to no avail. You hadn't had anymore since that one with Sky, but you always woke up shaky and out of breath, your dreams fading as you tried to grasp them for any hint of a clue.

You'd gotten used to the pull of the Gemstones, effectively blocking them out. They no longer had to be hidden from you, but you did catch yourself one too many times unable to stop staring at the light blue glow. It was fine though, you were definitely fine, you could do this... Probably.

You had inquired about your original clothes to which you were told that they had been sent for testing to try to gather if there were any clues they could gain from the material or potential DNA, but that you would receive it back when they were done. You knew it was only a simple, yellow, summer dress but it was one of the only things you had from your home and you were relieved to hear you would be getting it back.

A week after that the results had come back. The only abnormal thing was that they were unable to identify certain materials in the dress. The scientists seemed to agree that that meant that it was remnants of particles from your world that they didn't have here. Overall, it confirmed your suspicion that you were from another world, but which world that was and how you got here were still a mystery.

As if sensing your stress levels increase like some sort of anxiety metal detector, Viktor had walked over to check on you, this time without a word to quiz you on, much to your relief.

"Perhaps you should take a break, I don't think glaring at the paper will make it give you all the knowledge you seek." He teased.

"You never know, some pretty crazy things have happened since I got here." You retorted, but he was right, you should give yourself a break.

"You may just light the paper on fire yet." He chuckled when you pouted at him, crossing your arms across your chest indignantly.

"I resent that accusation."

You tried your best to keep your facial expressions aloof, your mouth quivering at the corners as you tried not to smile.

"Come on," Viktor goaded, a grin on his face, "If anything, I am at least very funny."

"It's a good thing you've got that going for you, word is that you're not very bright." You couldn't help the mischievous smile that appeared in your voice.

Viktor clutched his hand to his chest, "You wound me."

You chuckled, "I think you'll be fine."

He shrugged, "Eeh, probably."

You shook your head in exasperation, your smile starting to make your cheeks hurt. You reached towards the glass of water at the edge of your desk, suddenly feeling shy under his gaze. In hindsight, you should have anticipated your sheer level of clumsiness and kept the glass closer to the middle of the desk, but you hadn't been thinking that far ahead, nor anticipating Viktor to make you jittery as he seemed to love to do as of late.
