TWENTY TWO

"DAMN, IT stings." Dae-Su groaned as everyone was around the fire place just like before. "What the hell is with that Gwi-Nam kid?" Joon-Yeong asked, after not being able to fix his now broken glasses. "You said he got bitten." He turned to look at the boy beside him.

"I don't know." Cheong-San sighed, looking at the fire. "It looks like he became something totally different." Su-Hyeok nodded. "I don't think he can die."

"What if he climbs back up here?" Wu-Jin wondered.

"He's bad enough... but to be honest, I'm scared of Nam-Ra too. You saw her fighting right?" Ji-Min confessed.

"To save us." Soo-Jin stated, defending her friend. "She pushed Gwi-Nam off of the roof to save Su-Hyeok. She hurt him, not us." She scoffed. "Well, I think it's reasonable to assume they're both half-bies—-" Dae-Su was cut off by Hyo-Ryeong hitting him on the arm. "What?" He huffed to her, but she didn't reply.

"Are you really okay, Nam-Ra?" Ji-Min glanced over at the girl in question. "You won't do that to us, right?" Nam-Ra let out a quiet sigh, "Would you believe me if I said that I wouldn't?"

"Why would you have to say it that way? Can you at least try to make us believe you? We're going to be together anyway.."

It fell silence between the group, as they didn't know what to say. But, Nam-Ra let out another sigh and looked up from her lap. "I... I've never done anything but study. I don't think I was naive, I think I was a coward. I was too scared my grades would drop and my mum would get mad. So I didn't do anything. I was too scared to make friends... My mum would always ask me what rank they were in class, what their parents did, how big their house was... That's why I never told her about Soo-Jin."

Soo-Jin nodded slightly, feeling a little hurt by it, but she knew it was true.

"I never thought I'd get a chance to sit around a fire with all of you like this. It's really nice. It's my first time." She softly nodded. "If we somehow manage to get out of here, i really hope we could make a fire.. and hang out like this again. I really hope we can do that."

"Let's do that." Soo-Jin lightly smiled up at her best friend. "If anyone wants to make a fire, we can all get together." She suggested and everyone nodded in agreement.

"Sorry, Nam-Ra." Ji-Min apologized, and she smiled, bowing her head down in her lap. "Ooh, did you just smile? Super awkward." Dae-Su jokingly chuckled.

"God, come on." Hyo-Ryeong rolled her eyes. "What now? Huh?" Kang Dae-Su questioned her, getting annoyed at the girl. "Why don't you two just date already?" Wu-Jin grinned. "You guys are so annoying."

"Are you crazy?"

"Psycho."

"Hold on," Nam-Ra began. "Did you hear that?" She asked, looking around at the group who shook their heads. "No, what is it?" Su-Hyeok queried with a raised brow.

"What? Is someone coming?" Hyo-Ryeong panicked. "Listen." Nam-Ra answered, making them look around.

"What's happening?"

"What is it?"

"I don't see anything."

All of a sudden, the sound of a helicopter was heard.
