¨David why did you run away like that¨ Sarah asks when she came home with Katherine. ¨Because he's one of my soulmates and I'm not like Kath or you to start flirting with him.¨ David went on rattling for another minute before Sarah put a hand over his mouth.
¨Hey David, Sarah. O hi Katherine.¨ Mister Jacobs walked in the room. Katherine nodded. ¨You take care Les tonight your mother and I are going out and we'll be home late¨ ¨Dad we just arranged plans with some friends off Kath to eat with them at their house.¨
¨That is alright if Les can come with you guys. See you tomorrow¨ ¨Wait where is mom¨ ¨Already left a half hour ago because she needed to get something¨ Their dad left the house leaving the three of them alone in the hallway.
¨Wait, where are we going to eat¨ David asked confused. ¨By your soulmate and his family¨ Katherine said. ¨Well sadly we have Les so I have to stay home¨ David tried to get to his room but was blocked by his little brother.
¨Hi Davey¨ David rolled his eyes at the boy. ¨Hey Les how would you like to eat by some friends of mine¨ Katherine knelt down to the boys height. ¨If they are all so cool as you, that would be amazing¨ Les exclaimed. Katherine and Sarah laughed. ¨Are you sure they can handle someone extra.¨ David tried to find an excuse.
¨Well they live in a foster home with 18 people¨ David's and Sarah's eyes widened. ¨Not done, I think Hotshot and Spot came over from brooklyn today so that's 20. Count me, Sarah and you in that's 23. Then you have their foster mom although I don't know if she eats at home tonight 24 so yeah. I think they can handle one more person¨ Katherine told everything like it was nothing

Katherine laughed at the text but Jacob siblings looked confused. ¨How did you say the name of that kid was¨ Sarah asked her girlfriend. ¨O yeah Crutchie¨ Katherine laughed awkwardly she didn't know how to explain it well. ¨Almost all of the boys and the two girls have nicknames, some are more on the normal side like Jack¨ ¨Wait Jack Kelly isn't his real name.¨ David interrupted Katherine. ¨Nope¨ She popped the P ¨Well what is it¨ Les asked only half following the conversation.
They walked to the living room and sat down. Then Katherine went on ¨His real name is Francis Sullivan, he had a rough past like most of the newsies that is what their friend group calls themself and most of them just take a nickname to not be reminded of their past¨ David just started at Katherine. ¨So tell us some other nicknames and the stories behind them¨ Sarah found it actually nice that the boys were that way.
¨Well we have Louis his nick name is Kid Blink, he has an eye patch. Yeah I'm warning you some of the names are not that original. His soulmate's name is Nicolas, nickname Mush I actually don't know how they came by this.¨ Katherine went off all the boys like this. ¨Alright so together with HotShot we have another Brooklyn newsie there Spot Conlon also known as the king of Brooklyn, he also has two soulmates and also only found one of them. Albert well as you see Albert has also no nick name but they call him Red for fun sometimes¨ Katherine finished off and Sarah gave a small applause while David was still taking it in.
¨Alright if we want to make it in time for dinner and have food then we better get going.¨ Katherine stood up. Sarah yelled for Les to come back down stairs and put on his shoes.
David didn't really know what to do, his head was a mess because of everything that happened. ¨Yo Dave the door is this way¨ Sarah grabbed her brother's hand and pulled him in the back of Katherine's car and Les came sitting next to him. Who was not nervous like David he was beaming with excitement.
Les always loved meeting new people, David hated meeting new people and so many of them at one time he didn't know what to think of it. Or he knew it he was nervous. Really nervous. David was so in thought he didn't even notice that they were already there.
¨And here it is¨ Katherine said once she had parked the car. ¨It doesn't seem like it is such a chaos as you said.¨ Sarah looked at the house they had parkt for. ¨Keep saying that¨ Katherine let out a sigh.
¨Are we going in or what¨ Les tried to pull open the door but it had a child lock on it. ¨Alright Alright¨ David pulled open the door at his side and let Les follow him on his way out. They walked to the front door and David was thinking to himself if he could run away. Sadly his sister knew him all too well so grabbed his hand. ¨You're not running away Dave, go ahead Kath¨ Sarah gave a nod to ring the bell.
Not even a minute later the door flew open. ¨No killing anyone¨ The boy yelled before he turned to the four outside. ¨O hey Kath¨ He hugged her and then pulled away. ¨So these are the people Jack, Crutchie and Race were talking about.¨ ¨I guess¨ David awkwardly rubbed his neck. ¨Haha, Buttons these are Sarah, David and¨ Katherine looked around. ¨Where's Les¨ ¨I'm here¨ He popped up behind David. ¨Sorry¨ Sarah ruffeld the boys hair. But he swatted her hand away and pouted. ¨Come in¨ Buttons opened the door further and stepped aside.
The four walked in and they immediately were met with a lot of chaos. ¨Not so much chaos he Sarah¨ David whispered in his sisters ear and pulled out of her grip. They followed Buttons to the living room where they saw what was going on.
JoJo, Finch, Elmer, Crutchie, Albert and Spot were playing a heated game of uno. Jack, Crutchie, Mike and Tommy were just watching. Mush, Blink, Romeo and Specs were crulled up on the couch. And Ike, Henry Hotshot, Sniper and Smalls were talking on the other side of the room.
¨Hey boys¨ Buttons yelled above everyone. Everyone turned around to look at who was with Buttons. ¨Hey Kath¨ They almost all of them said at the same time. ¨Hey boys I have brought some extra guest.¨ She mentioned the three Jacob siblings. All the newsies looked at them and
David felt like running away again and again Sarah grabbed his arm. ¨So Kath are you introducing your guest to us or what.¨ Crutchie walked to Katherine and gave her a small hug.
¨Well these are the Jacob siblings¨ ¨Don't ever call us that again¨ Sarah smacked Katherines arm. ¨Well anyway¨ Katherine gave a playful glare to her girlfriend. ¨This lovely lady here is my soulmate and girlfriend Sarah. The person who is figuring out how to get away from here since we forced him in the car is David.¨ David who was looking around the room shot his head back at Katherine when he heard his name.
¨Don't worry Davey you are going to be fine, someone only needed to go once to the hospital after a game night.¨ Jack padded David's back.
¨And he deserved it¨ Albert glared at Blink ¨Really reassuring boys, well and this little ball of energy is Les¨ Katherine finished. Les had taken his wooden sword with him and was practicing fighting in the air. The boys laughed and a few went over to Les to get to know him better.
David tried to walk away again but Sarah and Katherine pulled him to the little group where Jack was sitting.
