'Good morning Natty,' Natasha smiled at the sound of your voice, but it didn't last long. Natasha instantly sat up and opened her eyes, widening to see you. You laying in bed next to her, 'Is everything okay? Are you okay?' Your voice and expressions showing concern for your girlfriends state. You reached out and touched Natasha's arm, rubbing it soothingly to calm her down, but it did the opposite.'Is this real? How are you here?' Natasha was sure this was just a cruel dream. Surely her mind was playing tricks on her. After the blip happened you were gone. You had disappeared right in front of Natasha's eyes. The last 4 years without you had been the worst 4 years of Natasha's life. All Natasha's energy she put into finding a way to get you back. So far she hadn't been successful. Natasha had too many sleepless nights where she laid awake, wishing you were right next to her. But you weren't and all she could think about was how she had and continued to fail you.
'Nat I'm really here, now what's going on?' You laughed slightly as you cupped her face.
'But Thanos won and you and everyone disappeared. You were all blipped,' Having you in front of her, reassuring you that this was real had Natasha questioning herself. But you would never tell her a lie and Natasha could tell when you were lying. Right now you weren't. Could you really be here? Was the blip just a bad dream?
'You're silly,' You shook your head, 'Nat we defeated Thanos. No one, what did you call it? Blipped? Everyone's still here, I'm still here and I'm not going anywhere,' Your eyes held nothing but the truth. Your reassurance comforted Natasha
'This is real,' Natasha whispered, more for herself to believe.
'As real as it'll ever be,' You placed a soft and slow kiss on her lips. Hers warm against your cold ones. That was the first warning sign, your lips were never cold, but Natasha decided to put all that aside. You were here. It was Valentine's Day and you were going to celebrate it just like you always had.
'Come on, I'll make us breakfast,' One last kiss was shared before you dragged Natasha to the kitchen.
The day had been perfect. Almost like it was a dream. The two of you had the compound to yourself, the mischief you could've gotten up to. Instead you both spent the day completely infatuated with each other. Natasha told you about that bad dream she had, about Thanos and half the world disappearing, you having disappeared. You held Natasha, comforting her while she told you. Small kisses placed all over her face eliciting small giggles that turned to laughs. Natasha's laugh was your favourite sound.
You had spent most the day cuddled up on the couch, talking about nothing and everything while watching all of your favourite movies. Natasha admired the flowers that were delivered, another surprise for her from you. Valentine's Day was almost over. Natasha made her way over to the kitchen where you were cooking dinner for you both. You felt Natasha snake her arms around your waist, holding you close. Turning off the stove she took the opportunity to pull you away, spinning you so you were facing her.
Natasha turned on some music and began swaying with you in the middle of the kitchen. You rested your head on her shoulder, breathing in her scent. Smiling. Something Natasha hadn't done for a while but right now she couldn't wipe the smile that consumed her face. The music was dying down. You both pulled apart, Natasha holding you at an arms distance. Gazing into each other's eyes, 'I love you's', were shared between you both.
Natasha closed her eyes, leaning in to kiss you. Her eyes snapped open in confusion when your lips never connected with hers. Natasha looked around. She realised she was in bed. Frantically looking around the room and running through the compound, she soon realised it was just a dream. Falling to her knees in the middle of your shared room, hands holding her head while she let her sobs rip through her body. Natasha could feel you. She could still feel your arms wrapped around her, holding her while you slept. She could still feel your lips over her body. It was like you were right next to her, but you weren't really here, you were still gone.
