Scarlett's pov

I step foot into my home and my parents were waiting at the living room table. I'm in deep shit.

My mom stands up. "Mind explaining where you were?" Her arms were crossed and her eyes were widened, waiting for answer.

"I-I'm sorry I forgot to text you" I stammer.

"What's this phone call that I'm getting saying you got into a fight with a girl at school?" My dad asks annoyed. My heart beats faster within the minute.

"Me and her have been having problems for a while now. It won't happen again, dad"

"We taught you better than this, Scarlett. You don't go to school and fight. You go to school and learn, getting a education" my dad continues. I sigh heavily.

"Now what was this fight about?" My mom raises her tone a bit. I look down and bite my lips, trying to make it not tremble from the fear.

"something stupid. It doesn't matter now" I mumble.

"Doesn't matter now?" My mom says scoffing, now yelling. "You must be outta your goddamn mind if you think fighting at school doesn't matter now!"

"And why on earth were you gone for so long? Schools ends at 3:30pm and it's 5:00"

"She made my nose bleed so I had to go to the hospital and get it checked out. She just put it out of place"

"You got to be kidding me" my mother says, having the palm of her hands in her face.

The next five minutes were torture. They lectured me and sent me to my room. They didn't take my phone nor grounded me but they were just disappointed in me. I guess it makes sense.

I've gotten into fights before and my parents always told me it wasn't right and even thought about pulling me out of school but they didn't.

Abigail's pov

Today was crazy. Scarlett and me found over my boyfriend Elijah. I bet Ashley and her little boyfriend Noel told her. I don't know but now I'm in even more trouble than I was before with my first fight.

"I just don't know what's going on with you. Why Abigail? Why do you keep getting into so many fights at school?" My mother says with a worried expression on her face.

"The girl came up to me and started to throw punches. I acted in self defense. I swear! Ask Valentina she was there"

"Not another word. Go to your room"

I did as my mom told me. As I walked up the stairs I tied my hair up and tried to avoid any more conversations with people.

"Hey kiddo! How was school?" My dad asks me as he walked down the stairs. I guess he didn't know yet. My mom will tell him soon.

Without saying anything I just continued going up. I got to my room and put on my pjs. I grabbed my phone and texted Elijah.

I miss you. Text me soon love.

Within 10 minutes there was a knock on my window. It was him. I rushed over and unlocked it for him.

"I got your text. I'm so sorry I didn't text you I was taking the day off for myself"

He pulled me in for a hug and I spoke. "Don't worry about it baby. As long as I'm with you"

"Let's get outta here" he whispered to me, our heads touching. I smiled.

"What about my parents?" I ask him in a hushed tone.

"Let's run away together. Spending all of eternity with each other"

He lets go of the hug and takes my hand, but I pull back.

"Elijah, I can't just leave my family here. What about everyone I love?"

"You love me don't you?"

"Of course I do" I hesitate, heart racing faster than ever before. "But you know we can't. You know I cant" he lets go of my hand.

His smile fades into a frown. "Let's at least go somewhere. I needed too see you"

I slip on some shoes and threw a hoodie on since the nights got chilly.

Oh, Elijah. The things you make me do.
