A few years had already passed since your parents died, their gravestones are right beside each other because you wanted to make them stay together.

Unbeknownst to you, after a week that the Madrigals had buried them, their grave had been dug up by the one and only Luisa, the lifeless body of your father became fertilizer for the crops on the field. They made sure to bury his body under the ground to the point that no one could see the lump but it's deep enough to support the plants as they grow.

And now, you're sixteen years old, a year older than the chameleon and the butterfly but five years younger than the graceful young woman, the buff lady, and the quiet young woman.

You have turned into a quite rebellious, pessimistic but strong and caring lady throughout the years, losing your parents at a young age had affected your mental and emotional growth but that didn't stop you from turning into the amazing person you are today.

Some of the people in town love you for who you are but some also hated you because of your connection, beauty, sassy, and pessimistic personality.

Take an example for it right now, you're standing in front of the daughter of the town's famous librarian- Estrella Serrano.

"I don't know what does Camilo sees in you because I see nothing." Estrella huffed with her eyes scanning your whole appearance, "You're wearing big clothes, just what does he see in you?!"

You raised an eyebrow at her statement, you couldn't but cross your arms in front of your chest with the book you were reading hanging loosely in your hand. The annoyance you're feeling earlier is now resurfacing because of the girl in front of you, your eyes squinted in a glare as you continued to stand there, letting her insult you while listening to every word that her mouth would spit out.

"You don't have any sense in fashion! You always prioritize eating while shoving your face on those books!" Estrella pointed at the book on your arm, "You're a nerd! You don't have any friends because of it. That's why you're forcing yourself with the Madrigals!"

"Okay, that's enough." You snapped, you gritted your teeth together while you took a step forward with your arms fell to your side as you gripped the book tightly to control your anger, "I won't force myself with them, they took me in because they love me while you? You're just a nobody so don't expect Camilo to have an interest in someone like you."

Estrella's eyes darkened with fury and before you could comprehend what she was about to do, a sound of skin being slapped resonated in the air then you just found yourself staring wide eyes at the dirty ground beneath your feet with a sting on your right cheek.

"Just because they took you in doesn't mean they love you! They probably just pitied you since your father killed himself because he can't stand living alone with you!" Her words were dripping with venom and that made you flinch.

You knew that your father would rather kill himself if you're mother is not around, he loved your mother more than you, you know that but you can't stop the aching feeling inside your chest.  You knew that her words are true but you wouldn't let her insult your family just like that.

"I feel bad for your mother who dealt with the pain for nine months just to give birth to you." You spoke calmly, "I think your father should have bust outside because now, he has a daughter like you."

The girl's face turned red because of your statement, and you couldn't help but let the smirk creep up on your lips because of the pain and embarrassment that flashed in her eyes momentarily. She opened her mouth to speak but no words came out, she looked like a fish that was begging to come back to the water, which made her look so pathetic.
