"Why are you doing this.."
Luisa and Camilo both looked at each other before letting out a chuckle under their breaths. The young woman's grip on her neck only tightened and Luisa had to shove back dirt inside her mouth to stop her from screaming for help.
"You lay a hand on our (name), Señorita Serrano." Camilo gave her a dark grin and his hazel eyes glazing with a dangerous glint, "And that's a big no-no."
Estrella's eyes widened and she started struggling once again, the tears rolling down her cheeks as she stared at the two Madrigals in front of her, they are wearing a happy smile which scared her even more. Luisa picked up more dirt from the ground and she shove all of it inside of Estrella's mouth, the quiet yet crazy cackles of Camilo and Luisa were the last thing that she heard.
The loud crunch of bones being broken into two resonated in the air, the sickening crack and the sight of the lady's head falling to the side, made the Madrigals smile wider.
Luisa had finally killed Estrella Serrano.
"That's satisfying," Camilo commented as he watched Luisa drop the lifeless body of the young lady on the ground.
"Totally." Luisa replied curtly, her dark eyes scanning their surroundings for a while before a proud and earnest hum came out of her lips when her gaze fell on the river water, "I'll just throw her on the river, there's a big possibility that they will see her body tomorrow."
"I want to see her under the ground but sure." The shapeshifter hastily agreed with a shrug.
"Right. Go home first, (name)'s probably waiting for us."
The news of Estrella being found dead by the riverbank spread around the town, it shook the people which made them feel terrified, sad, and pity towards the Serrano couple.
They were the first ones who found the body because their chore first thing in the morning is cleaning the river where they found the dead body of their daughter, they found the rope wrapped around her neck and they couldn't do anything but wail loudly as they removed the rope from her neck while cuddling Estrella's cold body close to them.
You are one of the people who felt pity for the couple even if Estrella treated you badly, that doesn't mean you would want her to die, well, at some point you did but not like this.
The cause of her death is unknown.
They told the others that Estrella is a cheerful child with ambitions so it's quite impossible for her to commit suicide but the mark on her neck, the bruise that seems to be the doing of a rope is enough proof for the incident to be called a suicide.
You volunteered to do their chores for a month because you know the feeling of losing someone important, you know how it feels to see someone you loved lay motionless on the hard surface of the ground because that's how you saw your father's corpse when you visited him.
The Serranos don't have anyone else except each other and it's quite obvious that they'll stay with the other in fear of losing someone again.
You let out a sigh as you push the wooden cart towards the market, the same aching feeling inside your chest is back when you saw the devastated faces of the old married couple. They have each other but when you were still a kid, you only have the Madrigals, that should be enough but the loneliness inside your heart can be filled if you saw your parents again.
"This sucks," You murmured under your breath.
"What sucks, mi querida?" The shapeshifter popped out from the bush beside you, you couldn't help but let out a scream because of his sudden appearance.
