Ana returned Kol's coat and started looking for Damon. She wanted to know how things had gone with Elena and Esther. Kol was wandering somewhere around. Ana spotted Elena and Damon who seemed to be in a very heated argument.

"Now you're mad at me for including Stefan?" Elena said angrily.

"No I'm mad at you because I love you." Damon immediately retorted as Ana heard the last bit of their conversation, shaking her head. Obviously this was happening.

"Well maybe that's the problem." Elena said as. Damon froze for a few seconds as Elena realized what she had just said.

"Damon, that's not what I-" She started but Damon cut her off.

"No I got it, Elena. I care too much. I'm a liability. How ironic is that?" Damon stated with a hurt expression. As Ana approached Damon, Caroline approached them at the same time.

"Have you guys seen Matt?" Caroline asked the three of them. Ana had to get Damon away from Elena after what she had just heard.

"Damon and I will look for him. Right Damon?" Ana asked, not waiting for a reply as she dragged him away.

"I heard you and Elena talk." She said, breaking the silence. The two were currently looking for Matt. Ana could care less about Matt. She just wanted a reason to get him away from Elena. Damon scoffed.

"Spare me the lecture, Ana." He said. Ana felt really bad for him. She tried to divert the topic by bringing up her tragic love life.

"I knew Klaus back in 1490 when me and Katherine were in England. We had a........thing." Damon stopped dead in his tracks.

"You what!?" He questioned with wide eyes.

"At first, I thought it was the whispers manipulating me to be drawn to him. But, it was mostly my feelings for him. I pushed away that nagging pit of guilt in my stomach for centuries thinking that my feelings for him weren't real. It was only an illusion. But, I met Esther and she told me that I actually had real feelings for him." Ana explained, looking down at her hands.

Damon walked towards her and cupped her face.

"It's ok, you know. You still have a chance. At least one of us gets to be happy." Damon said with a sad smile. Ana softly sighed. Nothing she said would make him feel better.

"Dam-" She started but he cut her mid sentence.

"Let's find the busboy before something happens to him. Not that anybody cares." He muttered as he walked forward.

"But Elena does. Well, if it makes you feel any better, you are always hell bent on keeping Elena alive while Stefan is worried about Elena's fragile little feelings. I guess that makes you the better brother." Ana said, following him as Damon slightly smiled.
