9. Saving the townies

Now that Bonnie and her mother were on board with the plan, Ana needed to convince Damon that she could handle things without killing the Bennetts. Sure, Damon did not once doubt Ana's abilities. But, with Elena's life in Rebekah's hands, one could never tell how things could go. Which is why Anastasia was now at the boarding house trying to come up with a plan.

"So, what you're saying is that you can weaken Esther and then kill her?" Damon asked, slightly skeptical. Not that he doubted her but this is Original matter and things always went south for them when it came to dealing with the Originals. 

"Yes, Damon." Ana replied annoyed. "So you better don't screw anything up. I told Bonnie that no harm will come to her by you. I can kill Esther. I know I can."

"Here's the thing. I kinda already sent Alaric to dagger Kol at the grill." Damon confessed with a nervous expression. Ana scoffed and made her way towards the door.

"You are stupid, Damon. And now you are gonna help me fix this." She ordered as he immediately nodded.

Alaric and Matt were trying to carry Kol's body away from the grill's back door when they saw Ana and Damon approached them.

"God, you have Caroline distracting Klaus and you really think he's going to fall for it. Undagger him first." Ana told the three. Matt and Alaric looked at the unknown girl with a puzzled expression. Matt had seen her before and didn't get the chance to thank her for saving him at the ball. Before Damon could pull the dagger, Klaus sped towards Damon and choked him.

"I should have killed you months ago." He growled and Ana was about to retaliate. Anastasia's position right now was a variable one. She was basically the peacemaker between the Salvatores and the Mikaelsons. She just hoped that nobody puts her into a situation where she would have to pick sides. Matt undaggered Kol and Klaus seemed like he would kill Damon. 

"Do it. That's not gonna stop Esther from killing you." Damon gasped out. 

"What did you say about my mother?" His grip on Damon's throat tightened. Ana took this as her cue to cut in.

"Klaus, just leave him. I can explain." Ana spoke up, moving closer to him. Klaus gave Damon one last glare and threw him onto the ground. She crouched down next to Damon to check on him. He nodded and stood up. At the same time, Elijah appeared out of nowhere.

"Leave him. We still need them Niklaus." Elijah warned and Klaus looked at him, confused.

"What did mother do Elijah?" Klaus asked angrily. They were running out of time and Ana needed to do this. Esther had created her to eliminate evil. And whose more evil than a mother trying to kill her children behind their backs. Anastasia had witches and supernaturals fearing her, for a good reason of course. And now, she needed to show Esther what an abomination like her could do.
