Eun Gyo had moved on from Kang Seon Hye and the anxiety she gave her the next day, but not Hansu. He couldn't, and wouldn't forgive her. No one deserved to rattle Eun Gyo like that and walked free afterwards, unscathed. So Hansu ordered his men to burn down Kang Seon Hye's house.

He used to keep the woman as his mistress for six months, but she became clingy and greedy. And tiresome. He had stopped seeing her before he first laid eyes on Eun Gyo.

By then, Kang Seon Hye was nothing for him except a woman that tried to hurt his woman, the mother of his future child, and tried to turn her against him.

He felt no mercy for Kang Seon Hye.

She had another constant client named Katsumata Kojiro, the owner of a garment business. Still, she preferred, Hansu, since he was far richer, more powerful, and more handsome than Katsumata.

Regardless of her feelings, Kang Seon Hye needed a provider to survive, and Katsumata really liked her, giving her a small house with a garden. This house was the proof of achievements for all the geishas and gisaengs in that era.

And this was exactly the house that Hansu burnt down to ashes.

Seon Hye wept uncontrollably as she saw her house burnt, knowing that must be Hansu's men. In her deepest heart, she vowed to destroy Eun Gyo and Hansu.

The meetings for the people concerned with the building of the first department in Osaka, the Daimaru department store, were ongoing. The Mayor of Osaka was always the leader of these meetings. Hansu attended each one. There were seven people who were interested in funding the building, and the mayor had the right to approve them or not.

Hansu knew that his position as one of the biggest investors was a done deal. He had the most money and influence. The mayor would be a fool to not accept him. Still, Hansu made sure he gave all the six other investors and the mayor enough entertainment at the gisaeng house weekly.

Katsumata was one of the six investors. Hansu found it so silly that he would go home directly after the meeting, and would not follow them to the gisaeng house. He's being loyal to Kang Seon Hye. The fact that he has a wife and four children was well-known in the city.

After Hansu burnt that house, Katsumata often gave Hansu murderous look. But that was as far as he dared, or capable to do.

A pompous bug, Hansu thought. Get out of my way!

On these weekends, Hansu would sit at the gisaeng house after the meeting. The prettiest gisaengs would perform 3 dances, Soo Ryeong poured soju for all of the Japanese men.
