The wedding of Kim Bum and Moon Geun Young was a wedding of many definitions. Both were the heirs of a liquid gas and gold mining company. Their families were famous for expanding their business and buying mines around South East Asia while also buying each other's shares, trying to have ownership of the other's company. The adversary between the heads of the family had begun since three decades ago, until they decided to stop all the rivalry by marrying their children.
Kim Bum loathed the attachment because he found it disgusting that he couldn't choose his own spouse. Sadly, Geun Young had long since fallen in love with him, knowing him since college. She willingly agreed to the marriage, hoping to build a real, happy marriage with the man she loved.
Kim Bum had been trying to hurt Geun Young in many ways since the wedding was planned, in hope that she would cancel the wedding. Yet Geun Young was adamant, even saying that she wanted to make him a better man.
Min Ho told Go Eun all of this as they stood between the guests, champagne glasses on their hands and looking over the newlyweds. They had shook hands with them before, and were now preparing to eat their lunch. But the buffet was so crowded, so they decided to wait a bit as they talked together in the center of the banquet hall.
Go Eun felt that Geun Young was forcing herself to smile. Her heart went out to her, praying that she would really find her happy ending. Kim Bum could barely smile at all, obviously furious at everything, unable to stop what he didn't want.
"If only he could trust this Geun Young a little. Who knows, maybe they really are meant for each other. They just had a bitter beginning. Their fate is already like this, so why not try to get along?"
"It's Kim Bum's pride, I think. He's always so stubborn about everything, and he never thought his parents would ever force him to do something like this. He's currently very upset and wants to get back at everything and everyone."
"In a perfect world, he would fall in love with her, and they would have a happy marriage while also benefiting their families."
Min Ho smiled at her, "Baby, this is not a perfect world."
"I know Oppa. But if Kim Bum wants to make it work, he would. Why hurt his wife? You told me he had no steady girlfriend before the wedding, so why not try to get along? There will be no use trying to hurt her more. I guess that wild birthday party was meant to hurt his wife?"
"......ne. Remember when you ran out after seeing what he.......did? Geun Young arrived at the party not long after you left. She saw him doing that girl."
"Oh my God!" Go Eun exclaimed, bleeding for the woman who had to endure it.
"Yeah. But Hye Young loved Kim Bum, for real. She refused to cancel the wedding even after that," Min Ho sighed, "I don't know whether she's smart or stupid for doing that. Let's just see their future. I wish them all the best."
Go Eun looked at Geun Young again, a camera was shooting her, standing beside a husband who didn't love her but trying her best to look happy with it.
"I hope she will be strong. And that her dream will come true."
"I hope so, too" Min Ho agreed, before holding her hand and leading her to the Italian food section.
It was a wedding reception that was filled with Min Ho's social circle. Three generations of the wealthiest families in Korea with their business colleagues, friends, lovers, and all that came with their so called elite world.
Go Eun knew no one there, yet she was grateful that so far, Min Ho had stood by her side, introducing her as, "Kim Go Eun, my fiancé.".
"When did you properly propose to me and I accept?" she asked, barely moving her lips as she smiled to people who kept coming to shake Min Ho's hand and afterwards, hers.
