Horror Hunters: The Phantom Game

Game 1: Tag Chase

As we heard that laugh, chills ran through all of our spines.

"Something is not right..." Pro exclaimed shakingly. "Even so, I am going to investigate. You guys can stay here."

"I'll go with you." I replied.

    "Seriously you too?? You guys are out of your minds." said Ayoi.

"Me too, I am interested in this." Shadow agreed.

"Ughh fine, I'll go, hmph!" Ayoi finally agreed in coming along.

We all walked through the hallway and we used our flashlights to see. It was kind of cold if you asked me. As soon as we reached the end of the hallway the shutter door behind us shut closed from the distance just like the other door did. We had no escape it all became clear to me. We saw another shutter door with a sign above it that said "Game 1".

"Game 1..." I read out loud.

"I welcome you all. hehehehe" a mysterious voice said out loud. "You have been brought here to play a game with me."

"Eww, who are you?" Ayoi asked in disgust.

"I am Mr. Sunny and for this game I will be explaining the rules." The voice said.

"A game huh? Interesting tell us more." Pro demanded.

"Very well then, for this game there is a maze. You see through the darkness there is a maze of hallways. At the end there is an exit. The rules are if you can survive and reach the exit, you pass the first game. I will be chasing you and kill whoever I am able to catch hehe." The voice explained.

"Hey..the vent, it seems to be open. Not only that, theres seems to be dusty footprints." I claimed. "It seems that theres a vent way on the ceiling and walls. He could have used that to reach all the way to the end of the maze in order to hunt us and chase us down."

"So we have to run. I see..." Shadow replied.

"The game starts now! If you don't start running, you will die!! hehehehe." the voice taunted us.

We all started to run into different hallways, Pro went ahead, Ayoi and me were going the same way, as for Shadow she went on her own as well. We started to hear loud footsteps coming towards us.

"Do you hear that, Koku?" Ayoi asked.

"Yeah...I do" I replied. The footsteps got louder and louder, we both ran faster and took the middle hallway. As I turned back, I saw him...his face, it really was Mr. Sunny, the big puppet that posed on the stand in the toy-store was running after us. His eyes were bright red and his teeth were thin sharp, he had so many sharp teeth like a shark. It was like one of those Goosebumps books I read as a kid when the demon monster chased after the main character.

"Damn! Thats one creepy puppet." I shouted.

"I don't want to die to that thing ughhh!!" Ayoi whined.

As we kept running we saw Shadow running at a distance as we came across a hallway intersection. Pro was right in front of us and he turned his head back at us. His facial expression changed as he saw the puppet chasing us from behind. It was an expression of disgust and horror but also excitement. No idea how he was able to express all three of those emotions at the same time.

As the three of us kept running, we catched up with Shadow. She saw the puppet but was not scared or bothered by it. Its as if she knew what that puppet looked like as a monster.

"Look theres a red arrow pointing to the right that must be the way to the exit!" Ayoi shouted.

Pro and Shadow ran ahead of us towards the sign and turned right, so did we.

     Afterwards, there were more arrows pointing the way to the exit, we saw an open shutter. It had a red and green light above it and an arrow pointing to it.

"That must be the exit!" I said. We saw as Pro and Shadow ran through it. We reached the exit, I ran through the exit and made it out and then as soon as Ayoi was going to run through the exit as well, Mr. Sunny catched her leg, and started to pull her. I did not hold back and pulled her arm towards me, it was like a game of tug of war.

"Ayoi! Kick his arm! Weaken his arm just a bit!" I commanded.

She kicked his arm and I was able to pull her in and she made it out. When she did, the exit shutter closed on Mr. Sunny, as he glared his teeth at us.

"So you guys managed to survive huh?" Pro asked.

"Duhh, you two left us behind!" Ayoi exclaimed.

There was a small obstacle course of floor pads sticking out horizontally from the walls.

"It seems we have to go and climb on those pads and reach over there." said Pro.

I looked at where he was pointing and saw an entry way high up. We had no choice, we all went on and climbed up. It was a tight obstacle course. We all made it through and as soon as Ayoi made it to the last floor pad, the pad broke off its rim and she began to fall but I grabbed her hand in time and pulled her up.

"It isn't over yet...we managed to survive that tag chase but it seems clear that this is only the beginning..." I said to the others.
