The warmth of the sun on her skin, the summer breeze brushing past her hair, the freshness of the air reminded her of the best time of her life. The time of her childhood when she would run across the royal garden with her mother watching closely from behind. The time when she was truly happy. When she lived without the burden of being a ladylike and poised, delicate princess and the future heir of the throne. When she could live the life she desired. The life which was so precious to her.

"Come here sweetheart. It's time to choose your attire for tonight's ball."

She opened her eyes, the voice pulling her out of her nostalgia. She smiled and turned around to face the only person who can see her genuine smile, her mother.

"I trust you mom. You always chose and always will choose the best for me. I want you to pick my gown for tonight's ball."

"You always ask me to choose your gown for every ball or any big ocassion. You used to be so eager to choose your gown for every little ocassion when you were young."

"Do you still think I'm the same? Time and consequences change even the most inexorable people. And I was just a child. Anyways, the few days that I have in my hand before I take over as the heiress, I want to spend those all be myself. May I?"

Her mother sighed and walked closer to her. She caressed her daughter's face and kissed the latter's forehead.

"You know that you don't need to ask for my permission to do anything. I may be the queen for everyone in Roseville. But for you, I am only your mother."

She smiled and hugged her mother tight. No matter how her life and the people around her have changed, her mother is still the same.

And I was runnin' far away
Would I run off the world someday?
Nobody knows
Nobody knows, and
I was dancing in the rain
I felt alive, and I can't complain

Now take me home
Take me home where I belong
I can't take it anymore

She breathed in the welcoming scent of the woods surrounding her all around. The woods, filled with wild creatures, isn't the safest place for her to be. Yet she felt the strong urge to visit the woods for some vague reason that even she can't explain. Maybe destiny wanted her to be there...

She was having a peaceful time all by herself when all of a sudden, she heard a low growl behind her. Her eyes widened in alarm. She turned back quickly to face the beast standing there, snarling at her, revealing it's deadly, sharp fangs.

She began backing off. It isn't a great idea to anger a wild beast when you're unarmed. The beast advancing towards her, took it's position, ready to pounce at her any moment. She closed her eyes deep shut. If this is her end then so be it. She accepted her fate, ready to face the impact of her flesh being ripped off from her body.

But that never happened. She was confused as to why it was taking so long to attack her. She opened her eyes to find a sturdy, alluring stranger infront of her, the body of the beast behind him, unconcious and apparently dead. All that happened so fast in a flash. Her mind couldn't process anything.

"Are you alright my lady?" His captivating eyes were full of concern as he stared right at her and offered her his hand. She took it, allowing him to pull her into her feet.

"How do I thank you? I owe you a lot for saving my life."

He smiled the most appealing smile she has ever seen in all the 17 years of her life.

"I request you to not conceive my act of humanity as a heroic deed."

She smiled back at him. A young man of such civil demeanor is what she idealized in her partner.
