Wake up in day one, the morning of the first day
In the light of the light, the glare of the sun
That light burned me, the light covered my eyes
But I go now I follow my dreams

I was wandering in the woods of questions
I followed that light in the dark

The warmth of the sun seeping through the blinds fell on her rosy face as she snuggled in her covers, gripping the sheets close to her body. How difficult it is to leave your cosy warm bed during the cold mornings of October.

The alarm buzzing continually beside her on the nightstand indicated that she couldn't delay going to school anymore. Exasperated, she sighed and turned it off, slowly, grudgingly making her way out of bed to the comfort room.

The chill in the air made her shiver as she quickly made her way to the warm shower to drench herself in the solacing warmth.

After she was done dressing up, she quickly grabbed her breakfast, slung the school bag across her shoulder and made her way out of her house.

Upon passing through the school gate, she felt uneasy. The weather was cloudy. She had always been fond of stormy, cloudy, rainy skies. But today she felt as if it was an omen indicating something bad to happen. Something awful.

"Y/N? Is everything okay?"

Her orbs shifted from the sky to her bestfriend. The corners of her lips twitched up at the sight of her beloved bestie of 10 years.

"Oh it's nothing Eloise. The weather just seems eerie..."

"Why you love weathers like these, don't you?"

"Yeah but..."

"Oh it's nothing. You're probably overthinking again. How many times do I need to remind you to stop reading haunting novels..."

As Eloise went on with her rant, Y/N couldn't help but zone out of the convo. She looked around when her eyes settled on a pair of amber ones which looked back at her just for a brief second before the owner of those amber orbs adjusted his glasses and ran away inside the school hallways in another direction.

"Why is everything so strange today?"

The day went by slower than she had expected it to. She sighed and rested her head on Eloise's shoulder. Eloise shot her an empathetic glance and held her hand as leaned her cheek against Y/N's head.

"Don't worry bae. Endure this hell for two more minutes and we'll be out."

As soon as the schoolbell rang, they hastily packed their bags and rushed out of the class. Upon making their ways out of the class, they realised that it was pelting down.

"Do you have an umbrella?"

"No. Do you?"

"I wouldn't be asking you if I did."

"Hold my hand and let's run. Shall we?"

"We don't have any other way left..."

Clenching each other's hands, they both made their run. While exiting the school gates, she again saw him, the guy with the amber eyes. She didn't know his name. Infact she never even saw him before until today. But something about him was strange.

"Babe we reached your home. I'll go now."

"Eloise, wait take my umbrella!"

"I say what's the use? I'm already drenched anyways. See ya tomorrow!"
