A War of Worlds
Chapter Six of Book One
“What the hell do you think your doing?!” Selk asked.
It was he next day now and the three children with Juru started on their walk. It was a bit chilly in the morning still and Algebra's red face showed how cold she was. So to help her, and to annoy Selk, Justin picked her up on piggy-back ride. When he saw this, Selk's eyebrows turned into a glare and the eight words had suddenly came out of his mouth.
“What? Algebra just seems a bit cold and so I'm helping her get warmer.” Justin explained with a serious face but a shine in his eyes in glee.
Selk scowled, “I don't really think carrying her on your back will make her warmer.”
“I guess your right...” Justin then took Algebra off his back and hugged her on the waist from the back, smirking at the other young boy's face.
Algebra's face then went even more red, as so did Selk's, and before he could start yelling Juru decided to step in.
“Shall we continue our walk before we attract any unwanted attention?” he quickly suggested.
Justin looked at the phenix, “Yeah, I guess you're right.”
He took his arms off the girl's waist and walked in front with Juru next to him and Selk and Algebra lagged behind both of them. After about half an hour of walking with complete silence, Selk suddenly leaned against Algebra.
“What are you doing?” she whispered to him.
“I'm tired.” he whispered back.
“It's only been thirty minutes though.”
“So? I get tired easily.” he shrugged.
“Do-” Algebra got cut off.
“Hey, guys.” Justin said looking at both of them.
“What?” they asked together.
“Can I talk to Selk for a bit?” he said, looking mostly at Algebra.
“For?” Selk raised an eyebrow.
“Just for a minute.” Justin grabbed his arm and dragged him somewhere into the other side of the forest without waiting for acceptance.
Algebra stared for a second and then turned her attention to Juru.

“What do you want Justin?” Selk tugged his arm from his grasp.
“I'm going to ask you one thing and you're going to give me the truth.” Justin said with a serious face.
“Do you... like Algebra?”
As those four words formed into a question, Selk's face turned a slight pink.
“Wh-why would you say that? I-I don't like Algebra at all. I mean I do, but like in a sister-brother way. Not, not like that way!” he stuttered.
Justin made a sly smile and nodded slowly.
“Okay. Just wondering 'cause I kinda fancy Algebra myself, so less competition for me.” he shrugged while grinning.
“What? No!” Selk almost shouted.
“Oh? What does your heart feel for her then?”
Selk looked down for a bit then lifted his head with a tinge of pink blush and a glare of annoyance on his face.
