Chapter Two of Book One

Wait! What?! You mean your going to Earth?!” Synphia screamed.

“Mom. I'm only going because the president’s assistant said it would help us and others to learn more about Earth.” Chlorine tried to explain.

“Well, what does he know? Why can't he just send some of the army troops instead of young students?” Synphia pointed out.

“Mom, really. I'll be okay. I'll only be gone for about three weeks. Please, don't get so upset.” Chlorine pleaded.

“I... I'm sorry. I guess I'm just worried. You being my oldest daughter and all.” Synphia sighed, finally calming down.

“When do you leave?” Algebra asked.

“Tomorrow. You wanna help me pack up?” Chlorine said with her often seen big sister smile.

Algebra smiled back and nodded. She wanted to spend all her free time with her older sister before she left .

“Just be careful, okay?” Synphia said, kissing her eldest daughter's cheek.

“Don't worry mom.” Chlorine said.

Chlorine and the three other students were all together and ready to go. She kissed her younger sister on the forehead and hugged Sigma goodbye. She stepped into the ship.

Ion, Census, and Selk came with them to say goodbye to Chlorine and Alec.

“Hey Chlorine!” Census yelled before Chlorine was completely gone.

“Don't forget my souvenir okay?!”

“Sure, no problem! See you all little guys soon!” She said waving them goodbye.

“Hey, little man. Promise you won't miss me.” Alec whispered to his little brother.

Alec Ius. Selk's older brother. He had short messy black hair.He looked a lot like Selk, except older and more mature.

“Naah. I'll miss you.” Selk grinned at his older brother,“Promise not to get hurt.”

“Promise. I'm tough, like you.” Alec said patting Selk's black hair.

He stepped in the ship and waved his friends and family a goodbye.

Chlorine and Alec got into their seats as the door closed behind them.

On Chlorine's right was a girl named Sandara Stabilo. She was a pretty girl with curly brown hair and hazel eyes. There was also a boy named Nylo Valors to Alec's left. He had blond hair with freckles and glasses. The glasses reflected his bright blue eyes. They were both good friends with Chlorine and Alec. All four kids wore a white space suit and their helmets near the doorway.

“Ready? We'll be launching in a few minutes. You guys might want to put on your seat belts on now.” the instructor said through the speakers.

The children belted their seats.

“Okay. Guys, we'll be counting from ten, okay?” the instructor said.

“Okay.” They all said.

The ship's engines started. They held on to their seats tight.

“10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1!”
