A War of Worlds
Chapter Seven of Book One
Justin ran up to the girl and gave her a hug so strong it had almost made her fall. She hugged Justin back while laughing softly. Alec stood gaping at the sight of the girl. When she stopped hugging with the Zudian boy, she saw Alec. Tears seemed to begin coming from her eyes.
“Alec!”
“Dew!” they both said together as they hugged each other happily.
The eight other children looked at each other with puzzled looks.
“Umm... Alec? Who's she?” Selk tugged on his older brother's shirt like an eight year old.
The girl saw him and gasped, “Is that you Selk? You've grown up so much!”
“Wow... the girl looked so scared for a minute and then she suddenly became all cheery and happy.” Algebra thought.
She saw Census whisper something to Ion, then she shook her head frowning. Census then walked over to herself.
“Do you know who that girl is?” he asked her with an eyebrow raised.
Algebra shook her head, “And apparently, Selk doesn't either.”
The three all looked as Selk pushed the girl from him.
“Who are you and why do you know Alec? Your from this planet aren't you? Then how do you know each other.” he looked towards both his brother and the other girl.
“Oh, I see you haven't told him yet huh?” the girl frowned with concern at Selk.
“Told me what?” he raised an eyebrow.
“Please, if you don't mind me intruding.” Nobelium came to the children, limping while he half walked and half flew, “I think this might help explaining things to Selk a bit easier.
He handed Alec the piece a note the children saw one time.
“Hey isn't that the note you saw with Dew's name on it, Sunny?” Night blurted out.
Everybody else looked at the two Zudian twins with disbelief in their eyes, “You knew the name?” Census, Ion, Selk, and Algebra said together.
“Oops...” Night sat down on the ground with his head down.
“It's okay Night.” Sunny reassuringly patted his shoulder.
“We're so sorry for not telling... I just thought it might be better if you guys find out yourselves.” she said.
“You two...” Justin sighed, but them on the head anyways.
“So your name's Dew and you're also my sister?” Selk raised an eyebrow in doubt.
“Yes. She is. We were going to Xenzin and there were fights and rampages to get on the ship. Even if there was room for about 8 million people to get on a ship for Xenzin, there would probably still be others left here on Earth. People even had to separate from their families.” Alec explained.
“There were even a few people who died trying to get on a ship. It was a horrible experience to go through; especially for a person who had children.” Alex added on.
There was silence for a moment until Dew cleared her throat.
“Selk... Do you know why we had to move to another planet?”
“I was told it was because of an unknown disease.” the boy replied.
“Is that so?” Dew raised an eyebrow.
