I woke up the next morning to the sound of knocking on my hotel door. I grabbed my alarm clock and began cursing the person who woke me up at 7 on a Sunday. The party had lasted into the early hours of the morning and I was exhausted.
I checked the peep hole and opened my door.
"Morning sunshine!" Nick was way too cheerful and it was way too early. He walked right into my room with no invite, but he handed me an iced coffee on the way so I forgave him.
"Why are you up so early? I swear I was only asleep for an hour." I groaned as i perched on the opposite side of the couch from where he sat.
"It's your first time in LA. We have a lot to see. Besides you can sleep when you're dead." Nick pointed out.
"Fine, what did you have in mind?" I asked.
"Aww that's cute you think I'm going to tell you ahead of time. Meet me downstairs in an hour and be sure to wear comfortable shoes." Nick left without another word.
I showered and changed into a baby blue romper and paired it with my black vans. My hair was still curled from the night before so I pulled it into a long pony tail that trailed down my back.
When I got down to the lobby Nick was standing there alone.
"Where are Dani and Kevin?" I looked around, but couldn't find them anywhere.
"I think Alena might be getting sick so they decided to stay back with her and have a relaxing day just the three of them. Here put this on." Nick handed me a purple object.
"A fanny pack really? I haven't seen one of these since I was a kid." I really hoped he was kidding and wouldn't actually make me wear it.
"I'm bringing the trend back. See? I have one too." Nick said with a straight face. Oh my he was serious.
We walked out of the hotel and a sleek black convertible was waiting there for us.
"You rented a car?" I asked.
"No, Lexi is all mine" Nick patted the side of the car before opening my door for me.
"You named your car Lexi? Wait how did you get your car all the way out here from New Jersey?" I was confused as we drove down the palm tree lined streets of LA.
"Excuse me ma'am please refer to her as Lexi. Calling her a car is offensive and rude." Nick was using a girly sassy voice and I started laughing so hard my sides hurt.
"Okay fine, how did you get Lexi all the way out here?" I asked for the second time.
"I have a second apartment out here for when I have to stay for long periods of time while we're in the studio. Lexi is my LA car, which is why she's so special. The time apart has really brought us closer." Nick was acting all sentimental I had to remind myself he was talking about an inanimate object.
