I open the door to the Literature Club. As I'm the last one here, I get to see all the faces I've grown to know.
"Heyyy! Natsuki's here!" Sayori tackled me, making me wobble slightly. Sayori is a good friend to everyone in the club. She's extremely joyful, extremely bouncy, and... extremely stupid. But, depending on who you ask, I guess that gives her appeal. I pat her on the back, and she releases the hug.
"Hey, Natsuki." Monika said, not looking up at me. Monika is the Club President. Normally she's calm and carefree, but recently she's been under some heavy stress. Sayori says it's because of the student council. Apparently, clubs need 5 members to stay afloat, so if Monika doesn't get one new member, she's afraid this club will be taken down.
"Hey, Monika." I say, walking to the closet. I quickly pluck my manga from the middle shelf, and head to the wall to sit down.
...okay. I guess there's one more to talk about.
Yuri is also here. She glanced at me when I walked in, and looked back down into her book. For some reason, we just never could click. She liked novels, I liked manga, she liked horror, I can't read that stuff lest I want to be restless. Hell, not just what we like, our body shapes are the exact opposite! She's tall, and... curvy, while I'm... the opposite. Originally, I hated her. The first time we really talked, it was an argument. She didn't know how to respond to my poem, and she started by calling it "cute". I hated being called that, so I immediately retaliated, and it continued until Sayori broke it up. Originally, I blamed her for it, and I still do in some ways, but now that I had time to reassess my mind, I think I would forgive her. Not like I'd say that to her, though.
Actually, I just really wish I could get a second chance with her after that first impression. It gets a little awkward, coming here every day to someone who hates them.
"Natsuki? Can I speak with you?"
I raise my head, and Monika is looking directly at me.
"Sure." I say. When I approach, Monika starts thinking.
"Er, actually, Sayori and Yuri. Can you come here, too?" Sayori quickly gets to Monika, while Yuri looks confused, but slowly walks over.
"So, we all know about the current problem I'm facing." Monika opened her arms, and we all nodded.
"The club member thing?" Sayori asked, just for clearance. Monika nods.
"Right. Well, as the Club President, I try to take care of all problems that involve the council by myself to not put any pressure on my members," She gestures at us, "but, unfortunately, I don't think I can do this by myself. I'm asking you, do any of you have any sort of friends who may be able to join this club? I don't even need them to be interested in our activities. If they can stay here for the designated club time, we can keep this club standing. Does anyone have any ideas for someone to help?"
"I-I'm sorry, Monika. I, um... don't h-have many friends..." Yuri fidgeted with her hair. It seems she doesn't like to talk about her relationships.
"I understand." Monika nods. She then looks at Sayori, who seems to be thinking. "Do you have someone in mind?"
"Uh, I can think of one, but..."
"Sayori, any reasoning you wouldn't bring this person in must be serious. We are pretty desperate over here." Monika said plainly.
"Uh, well, there's that I haven't really talked to him in a while..." I immediately shook my head. I never felt comfortable around boys. They just are too fueled by hormones and testosterone to think normally. There's also how... Well, Sayori has a bit more to say. "And, I just can't help but think he might try to... flirt with one of us. I don't think it would be a friendly atmosphere with a member trying to constantly get with one, or even all, of us at the same time." Sayori put her fingers together. I cringed at the thought.

RomanceI am doing a second attempt at this DDLC fanfic. Don't read the first one I did, as it's not necessary to know anything from that one. The name might be changed and the cover art will likely be updated at some point. (it wasnt.)
