(A/N) Okay ill be honest and say i maybe focused too hard on Natsuki and Yuri. Here's some sayonika for you good folks reading.

Monika POV

I picked up a good amount of Trefoil and took out a wire. It was a silly practice, I thought, to be making necklaces out of natural plants. Mom said that it was a good idea to practice making gifts for those I care for most, and how a clover necklace would let the man of my dreams know just how lucky he was. I was certain it wouldn't, as if I were to get together with someone, I would need to be more than a gift box, but who was I to stand up to my mother? No, she hasn't been wrong before, so she won't be wrong later. I finish putting the clovers onto the wire, but when I close it, I realize the wire is too small to fit around someone's head. With a sigh, I was about to break the wire. 'I even found a four leaf clover for this,' I thought.

"Hey, Monika! Whatcha doin?" I heard the chipper tune of a friend from behind me.

"Oh, nothing, Sayori, just, uh..." I started. Sayori was a bubbly girl who was happy at almost all times, and it feels like sometimes the only reason I'm her best friend is because we managed to grow up near each other. Er, I guess that's a pretty niche way to have friends, so another way to describe her is one of those lovable friend characters in anime. Anyways, I looked from my friend down to the failed necklace. 'It wouldn't hurt,' I thought, and I put the wire on top of her head, with the four leafed clover facing front. When I put it on her, she reacted similarly to if you put some dog food on the head of a dog.

"Huh? What? What's this???"

"I tried to make a necklace... It was a bit too small, though." I explained. Sayori was about to reach for it, but eventually just left it there.

"Oh! Thanks for the gift, Monika! But come on, I didn't invite you for no reason!" Ah, right. Sayori invited me to a picnic with her family for... well, no reason I can name, now that I think of it. Though, I guess I'm treated like family already, so her parents never minded my presence. Luckily, it was also summer, so I didn't need to worry about an activity. I stood up and followed Sayori to the sheet with her parents.

The Nara family were certainly much more humble than mine. They weren't any higher class business workers who held massive power, no, they were just a family who worked for a small store. Nothing more. I guess I kind of like that about them, since Sayori is one of the only friends who I felt wasn't there due to wealth.

"Hello, dear. It's nice to see you've found your friend!" her mom said, before looking at Sayori. "Oh? What's that on your head?"

"Monika made it and gave it to me!" she said, cheery as ever. She looked at Sayori, then at me, and smiled sweetly.

"I see."

We spent the next while with Sayori's parents. Sayori's mother looks like a taller Sayori, though her hair is longer, and she has no red bow. She is also less cheery than Sayori, being more calm and serene. Sayori's father is different, however. He was more excitable, though, not as much as Sayori. He was more slim, and almost always had a smile. They were nice people to talk to, and Sayori's father always had some couple of stories about the people who he served in his store job. At some point, I keenly remember Sayori taking a small chunk out of a cake slice we had and popping it into my mouth. I was a little flustered, but Sayori seemed completely oblivious to that small action. Her mom also seemed to notice the small action, and she got that sweet smile again.

After a couple of stories and general talk, Sayori suddenly stood up.

"Um, hey, Monika, can I talk to you in private for a second?" She put a hand on my shoulder. I looked up at Sayori, and she had an unreadable emotion in her eyes. I stood up, and we started walking away.
