"This is a whole-ass mess."

The comment wasn't out of nowhere. Goggles kinda knew where Rider was coming from. I mean, there was a red life, some sort of alliance going on from the looks of the com logs... It was kinda scary, to be honest.

He leaned against the stronger man, watching as the sun set over the mountains. "Think we can make it out alright?"

"We will, I... I know it." Rider said. Though, he sounded unsure. "We just gotta outlive em. We can do that, I hope."

"Rider, we can do this!" Goggles smiled. "I can protect you!" He playfully flexed his arm. Rider chuckled.

"My Hero..." He said, smiling. "Just don't get yourself killed. The last thing we need is another red life here..."

"Then I won't go red! I'm blue, after all!"

Another chuckle. "Cutie. Just, keep that promise for me. K?"

"I will!" Goggles' smile grew impossibly wide, and he leaned against Rider. "We'll make it outta here!"

"Promise?"

"Promise!!"

"...Thanks, Gogs." Rider put his arm around the blue boy. "I love you."

"I love you too Ridey!"

The air was silent but not tense. It was... relaxing. It was nice. Rider ended up yawning. "Hey, Gogs?"

"Yeah?"

"...Can we go and get some sleep? I don't think being tired will help us out at all here."

"Okay!" Goggles shrugged Rider's arm off of him and... somehow, picked him up. ( HOW? I'M LIKE 2 FEET TALLER THAN HIM-)

Rider blushed. "G-Gogs!"

"What? I wanna carry you!!"

"..C-can you even carry me d-down? You can pick me up but-"

And yet another surprise. Goggles followed the trail down their little mountain, and to the cave they made into their home. "Guess I can!"

Rider smiled. "Good to know, I guess... Now, sleep?"

"Sleep!" Goggles set Rider down. The taller male stood up, heading into the cave. Goggles followed.

The two went over to the bed and Rider flopped onto it. "God, I'm tired... Night, Gogs. Sleep tight."

Goggles smiled, snuggling up next to Rider. "Night, Rairai!!!"

Rider closed his eyes, hugged Goggles, and let himself drift to sleep.
