What am I doing?

It's not easy having yourself a good time

The mission was to kill him and move on. Now I'm standing on a street corner with a mutant man baby strapped to my chest.

Greasing up those bets and betters

I don't think this is what Phil meant when he said I needed a change of scenery.

Watching out they don't four-letter

"Down that alley, now there-" His little chubby hand points to said alleys but I've cut him off with a hand over his mouth.

Fuck and kiss you both at the same time

"Shut up and we'll live." I grit out. Whatever the hell he is, for whatever reason he calls me.

Smells like something I've forgotten

Safe? New boy?

Curled up died and now it's rotten

He can't die.....

I'm not a gangster tonight

Always safe? Their question echoes as I dart across the street. Over the months their screeching demands have faded into howling pain, eventually it just blended in with the music.

Don't wanna be a bad guy

The never ending music.

I'm just a loner baby

Just as I step onto the opposite side walk, I remove my hand and quickly hand him a knife. "Ooo what's this for?" I flick him in the temple as I take note of entrances and exits.

He whines but overall shuts up, god it's odd working with something on my chest.

And now you've gotten in my way

Inside the laundry mat, it looks average, patrons mill about and machines hum, but the far wall isn't right. The space should be much bigger.

I can't decide

No one bothers to glance in my direction. That's the part of town this is. Keeping your head down keeps you alive.

Whether you should live or die

Laundry soap fills the air as I pass through, a telenovela plays on the only tv drowning out the dryers. Along the back wall are some folding tables and a door that they really tried to make blend in. It's easy enough to find if you know what you're looking for.

Oh, you'll probably go to heaven

There, there, there, and they're right off to left to the average person it looks like normal drywall but it's the gap along the floor they tried to cover with a rug.
