23. Unspoken Intentions

After discovering the truth of Himemiko, Toyotomi Hideyoshi set out to find her. Along the way, the Oda Army was having trouble with a sudden attack in town. Mori Ranmaru discovered the reason behind it became frightened about the threat he received, and worried for Aya's safety, and others. As for Oda Nobunaga, he went to the shrine that 'grants wishes' to look for clues on Hades Night, who became a new threat in Shinga. As he looks through the old scrolls, he learned many significant things about not only Hades Night, but the mysterious Emiko clan that mysteriously vanished from Shinga many, many years ago.

Third POV:

Everyone in Toyotomi Army was at the castle town, having a day off. They've been working so hard day and night that Hideyoshi made everyone, including himself, to have a dwy off and enjoy the day. It was close to winter so the temperature got a bit colder.

What's surprising was that two days ago, Nobunaga and his vassals came to the castle to discuss some business. Nobunaga wanted to talk in private, so the vassals decided to have a decent conversation with each other in the courtyard. Even now they're still talking so the vassals decided to walk around town.

"Ah, this is nice!" Toshiie cheers, stretching his arms out. "The fresh air feels so nice!"

"It's nice that you all get to take a break." Yuzuki smiles.

"Even though we've entered a new year." Toshiie sighs.

"Isn't that something good?" Katsuie asks, raising a brow in question.

"It means we're all getting another year older." Toshiie crossed his arms. "And not to mention, we might have to battle in this chilly weather." He complains.

"You know you can take advantage of the cold in battle. Maybe we can use the snow for camouflage." Hanbee suggested, already had an idea in mind.

"No, I can't." Toshiie sweatdrops. He'll die in the cold.

Everyone laughed.

"Hey, I want to drink some sweet sake." Katsuie said, seeing some set up at a stall.

"That sounds good!" Toshiie smiles, liking the sound of having a drink. "Let's all get a cup!"

They all went to the stall that sells sweet sake and got a cup. Even young people who's under age, and kids were allowed to have one as well so the girls got a cup.

Both Toshiie and Katsuie gulps down their drink in one go. Their cheeks didn't take long to go red as they sigh in satisfaction.

"You guys just downed it." Hanbee smiles.

"It's non-alcoholic, right?" Mitsunari starts.

"Why are the two of you drunk?" Nagahide finishes.

The two vampires were smiling. Toshiie was swaying a little as Katsuie's shoulders shutters from his laugh.

"Hahahaha! We're not drunk!" Toshiie shouts, patting Katsuie's back really hard as he continues to laugh his heart out.

Then Katsuie suddenly starts crying as he grasp his head with his hands. He starts screaming as Toshiie got the hiccups, but still held his drunken smile.
