9. Yakuma Corridor

Third POV:

The moon is shining in the dark sky. Two vampires in the archive of Toyotomi castle was sitting quietly, reading documents they have on the Himemiko and the Gegga Tribes. Hanbee woke up and saw his commander was looking at a book in his hands seriously.

"I'm sorry, Hideyoshi-sama." He apologises, standing up.

Hideyoshi looks at Hanbee with a smile. "You woke up at a good time, Hanbee."

What Hideyoshi said made the vampire confused. Hanbee walks closer.

"The oldest records on the first Gegga Tribe members were around the time they appeared in this world with Himemiko." Hideyoshi starts.

"So they came to this world... from another?" Hanbee questions.

"From what it says, a member opened a 'portal' and brought Himemiko and the other members to Shinga. But the member disappeared a few months after the wars ended." Hideyoshi explains. "What's odd is that this member has powers that are similar to Aya's."

"But there's no connection to Aya and the Gegga Tribes." Hanbee points out. "She didn't know anything about us after we visited the Takeda Army."

"You do have a point..."

"Then... what about the Himemiko and the yakuma?" Hanbee asks, changing the topic.

"The first recorded appearance of the yakuma coincided with the disappearance of Himemiko." Hideyoshi looks at the book. "The yakuma started appearing in Shinga around the time Himemiko vanished." Hideyoshi explains.

"Does that mean there's some kind of connection between Himemiko-sama and the yakuma?" Hanbee wonders.

"Possibly." Hideyoshi replies.

Then Hanbee gasps. "Could it be they want Yuzuki-chan because she has the same powerful blood?" He questions.

"Yes... The yakuma are after Yuzuki."

At Oda territory....

Aya starts killing a few yakuma that tried to attack her, she made sure not to kill all of them before heading back to the castle, or else Nobunaga would find out she snuck out.

Some yakuma had already started attacking the castle town. It raised the alarm and the news reached to Nobunaga.

"What? Yakuma have appeared in the castle town?" Nobunaga questions Mitsuhide, who informed him the news.

"Yes." Mitsuhide answers. "Nagahide's squadron is currently dealing with them. The yakuma are gradually making their way to the castle from the western forest." He reports.

Nobunaga looks at the distribution map on his desk. He had a sneaky suspicion of the yakuma's movements and he was right.

"It is just as you said. The yakuma are after her blood..."

"Mitsuhide, make the arrangements." Nobunaga orders.

"You mean...?" Mitsuhide gasps slightly, shocked.

"The time has come." Nobunaga closed his eyes. "We will find their nest in order to subdue them." He states, opening his lavender eyes.

'Why am I coming again?' Aya asked herself as another yawn escaped her lips.

After what happened last night, her fever got worse, not in a serious case, its just making her dizzy once a while. Now she's standing between Ranmaru and Katsuie outside the castle, standing on the bridge. The sun just starting to rise up from the mountains, the early skies mixed with pale blue and peachy orange.
