Third POV:
Aya got out of bed and changed before going to town with Hanbee, Yuzuki, Toshiie, Kagemochi, Masatoyo, Ranmaru and Saizou. She held onto Ranmaru's hand as she struggles to keep up with them. Aya took exhausted breaths, sweat trickling down her cheeks and she could see her hot breath against the chilly temperature.
Everyone glanced at her in worry. Her body was getting weaker to the point she has trouble walking normally. Hanbee walks on Aya's right with Ranmaru on her left.
"It's starting to get cold." Aya said, breaking the silence.
Everybody turned their heads to see the child having a small smile on her painful face.
"Yes." Hanbee nods.
"It'll be winter soon." Aya said.
"Yes." Ranmaru hums.
"Um, everyone..."
"Yes?" Kagemochi asks.
"Why are we going to town?" Aya asks. They just asked her if she wanted to go for a walk and she agreed. She didn't like the idea being surrounded by humans, but she's just playing normal.
Everyone stopped. They all thought back at the words in Aya's journal. She's an Emiko. A ghoul. The books they had, said that ghouls grew hatred for humans. Aya must've held her anger and bloodlust inside to restrain herself from killing any in town.
"How about we go for a walk near the lake?" Hanbee suggests.
Aya smiles... in relief. "That sounds fun!"
Everyone smiles at her enthusiasm before heading towards the lake, with Hanbee leading the way. Along the way, Ranmaru remembered what happened yesterday after reading Aya's journal.
Flashback:
After dinner, they all headed back to their rooms. Hideyoshi showed them where they'll be staying for the time being. As Ranmaru slides the door open to his room, he was surprised to see Aqua in there. What's concerning was that Aqua was draped in blood. Most of it wasn't her's but she was still wounded.
"Aqua-san..." Ranmaru said in shock.
"Sorry for intruding like this." Aqua bowed her head slightly.
"I-It's fine. What's..." Ranmaru stopped himself.
He closed the door behind him and cast a spell to block any noise coming out of the room. He then sat in front of the wounded woman.
"How can I help you today?" Ranmaru asked. He couldn't help but feel nervous. If Aqua got wounded this badly, it meant something happened.
"There is something we must tell you in a haste, Ranmaru." Aqua replied, looking at the vampire seriously, yet sad? "As you know, we Sentinels and Aya have been trying to save Shinga for some time."
"Huh? What is it?"
"Flare and Ira, two of the Team A5 members, have disappeared."
