Dear Aunt Dromeda, Dora & Uncle Ted,
Thank you very much for sending me the Nimbus Two-Thousand, I am enjoying my time using it very much. My practices are going very well and everyone on the team is very nice to me. Our team captain Oliver Wood is very feverishly in love with everything Quidditch so his energy is passed onto us and galvanises us even through the extreme cold.
At the mention of cold, the Hogwarts grounds are very cold and I heard that they get even worse during November and December. I'm not quite sure whether I like that. The Great Hall and the Gryffindor Common Room are very warm, which is good, but the Dungeons are very, very cold.
I'm very grateful for all the spells you taught me, Aunt Dromeda, they are helping me out on a day-to-day basis. I have also been studying up the Metamorphmagus books to better myself. But I have not yet managed to change anything more than a nail. I hope to improve over time.
Also, I'm happy to hear that you and Dora managed to get along with Calypso & Caster's Mooncalf dung for the garden. I hope the nearby farmers would not be scared of the patterns created in the fields. Thank you very much, and I hope it wasn't a problem.
Classes are going excellent and I am trying my best to stay on top of them. I am attaching the teacher's notes regarding my class tests along with the results. My only big competition currently is Hermione, my dormmate. Everyone else is not quite serious about their studies, it seems.
Uncle Ted, how are your days going at the Ministry? I hope you are doing well. There is a lot of things happening at the Ministry, I read in the newspapers. I was wondering if you were busier than usual? Thank you for the broomstick.
And how about Dora? How are your lessons going for the Auror-training? I hope you get to be one as soon as possible. How are your fellow trainees? I know that you'll be the best one out of them. Just don't let your clumsiness 'bring you down'. You can do it!
Everyone, have a wonderful day and give my love to all the animals.
I miss you all very much, and Happy Halloween to all.
With Love, Vega
"Here you go," Vega said as she held out some Owl Treats to Aquila before reaching around to place the letter into the carrier on his leg. "As usual, to the Tonks' Residence,"
Aquila hooted and flew out of the Owlery window and Vega turned to leave the place and head down for breakfast in the Great Hall, where she knew she would find Harry and Ron. She stuffed her hands in her pockets to bring some warmth.
Today was the 31st of October, which meant there was going to be a special dinner for Halloween celebrations. Quite honestly, Vega had not realised where the last two months went given how busy she had been with both the Quidditch practice three evenings a week as well as all the homework.
It didn't help that she had to help out Harry and Ron with their work at times, which Hermione had been strictly against. To be very honest, Hermione had stopped interacting much with Vega after she got the broomstick but they were back on speaking terms, at the very least.
Mostly because no other girl in their year was quite comfortable around Vega Lestrange. And Hermione seemed to be too headstrong for the girls.
Vega clasped her hand over the glass ball filled with bluebell flames in her pockets, taking in the warmth. It was something that Andromeda had taught her since a young age.
It wasn't that Vega just felt cold. She was cold from the inside.
When Andromeda and Ted had first taken Vega for her regular check-ups along with Dora, they had discovered that Vega's internal body temperature had been too low compared to the normal expected. According to them, she should be down with a severe hypothermia. The doctors had tried several methods to warm her up but it was no use –
