I couldn't sleep. I didn't know what was going on with Darien. Why did he feed from me? What's this ball all about? I tossed and turned in my bed, the moonlit room casting a relaxing atmosphere. I'm a vampire shouldn't I be active at night? Well, I'm bored. So I'm laying in bed. Eventually I got tired of doing nothing so I left my room and decided to roam around the church. No one seemed to be awake. Or at least present. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going and bumped into someone, I caught myself though. My reflexes have become superb.

"Are you alright my dear?" A smooth voice asked me.

I looked to see who i had bumped into and came face to face with a red eyed vampire. He stood the same height as me, his bleach blond hair hung messily around his face, and a small smiled showed dimples in his cheeks.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going. Please forgive me." I said giving a small bow.

"I'm Valistar. Valistar Ludavir Masfria." He said bowing in return a hand over his heart.

"I'm Scarlett." Wow, my name sounded so normal compared to his.

"Pleasure to meet you." He said taking my hand in his kissing it.

"Why are you out so late?"

"Well...I am a vampire. Arn't we nocturnal?" Sarcasm had come into my tone. But a playful sarcasm.

"You do make a point. Have you happened to see a man named named Julius?"

"I haven't see Julius since earlier. Before night fall."

"Hm. I'll have to find him later."

Something in my mind seemed to recall Julius and Darien talking about a man named Valistar at some point. But they had made it seem as if he was a horrible person or something, the man I was talking to now seemed like he wouldn't hurt a fly. This couldn't be him.

"You're new?" Valistar asked stepping closer, examining me.

"Uh. Yes." I said.

"Welcome to the family." He chuckled a dark sound, a mix between a laugh and growl and with a rush of wind he was gone.

I went outside to the gardens where the moonlit flowers casted perfumes of calming lavender and intoxicating roses. I sat on a bench under by a fountain, the sound of the water being the only real sound I could hear. I of course could hear animals in the woods and the light breeze shaking the delicate leafs on the trees, but the soft trickle of water was what had me most relaxed. I closed my eyes and leaned back. Seeing with my ears and nose. Smelling the fresh grass and crisp mountain night air, the flowers surrounding me, not overwhelming, but distinct. It was fascinating. To be able to sense so much with little to no effort. I hummed softly, a song my sister sang to me whenever I was a child, afraid of the dark, afraid of the monster in my closet and under my bed. The lyrics had never made sense to me until now.

"Little child have no fear, the light is near. Darkest before the dawn is the night. The shadows that crawl, fear that consumes, none can find holes in my love for you. To protect you and hold you, my promise to God."

Considering I am now a monster of the night I found it funny. But I still sung that song whenever I was unsure or afraid. It was something that stuck with me.

"Scarlett...what are you doing out here?" A jumped at the voice and the new presence in the garden with me.

"Oh. Julius. Didn't hear you." I said laughing.

"Have you happened to see a man walking around here? Blond hair, red eyes?" Julius asked his face the most serious I had ever seen it.

"Yeah, actually I ran into him on my way out here. He was looking for you, said he needed to talk to you." Julius rushed over to me and grabbed my shoulders tightly.

"Scarlett...stay away from Valistar. Please. Trust me, you don't want to mix yourself up with the likes of him."

"Why? He seemed so sweet and caring."

"Just believe me when I tell you he's bad news."

"Okay..." I whispered. I hated the ponced look in Julius's eyes, he breathed out a sigh of relief.

"Okay good."

Why did Julius want me to stay away from Valistar? What has he done that has made him such a dangerous person to be around? He seemed harmless to me. I didn't question it. Julius sat down beside me and sat his head in his hands.

"Julius when did you become a vampire?" I asked.

He laughed "I hardly remember myself. But I'll try to remember just for you." He teased.

"It all started when I was in an accident..."

Julius's POV

~~~The car was quiet, rain pounded on the car like bullets raining down from the unforgiving sky, thunder rolled shaking the very ground we were driving on, lighting illuminated the area around us. I looked out of the window over the edge of the cliff we were driving on, hundreds of feet in the air, what would be a fall to our death. Suddenly the car squeaked and the breaks squealed as my father slammed on the breaks as something crawled onto the road. We swerved, the car toppled, rolling over and spinning until it came to rest on it's back. My mothers screams and crys of pain. My body was filled with agony, deep red liquid covered my body, gushing from deep severed wounds that covered my body. I could hardly move, a thick shard of metal was embedded into my stomach and blood filled my mouth. I spit it up trying to breathe. My mom...my dad, they seemed to be alive, but I couldn't form words to call out to them. I needed to get help, we were so far up the mountain it might be days before someone comes to get us. I crawled out of the car, rain falling down on me, the road becoming stained with blood. I tried to call for help, but blood kept pouring from my mouth. A group of people approached me, their bodies soaked by the rain, stone expressions on their faces as they looked over the crash site.
"Father...what should we do?" A young man that stood beside the older man asked.
The old man looked at me contemplating on what to do. "Please...kill me. I beg you. End my life" I pleaded to him, my words came out as harsh groans, unable to talk, blinded by pain.
"No, we're going to save you. You have potential." The old man said sitting down beside me.
He pulled my neck to his mouth and I felt two sharp fangs enter my skin. I didn't know what was going on. But  my wounds began healing and I passed out.~~~
"The man who saved me was Father SInsata. And the man with him was Darien. I wasn't born vampire. I was human. Father Sinsata saved my life. I cannot remember anything previous to the accident, I don't know what became of my parents, what my human life was. I have severe amnesia that was caused my the crash. Whenever I try to remember anything that happened prior to that my head begins to hurt so badly to where I must not think about it. I've accepted it though." I said looking over at Scalrett who had tears in her eyes.
"Oh Scarlett! I didn't mean to make you cry!" I said hugging her to me.
"But now you know as to how I became a vampire. I apologize for upsetting you." I said
