Hello everyone! I know it's been awhile but I just haven't had time to write here lately. But I stayed home from school today because I hardly slept last night and I haven't been feeling well so I figured I could use this time to write. Plus my boyfriend is in Orlando right now and he said he needed reading material, you this is also for him <3 It's with much sadness that I tell you that I am almost done with Forever Eternal. I'm not sure if there will b a second book, it depends on what I want to do with the ending. But I have loved writing this book so much, it's my baby and I have loved to see it grow, even if it's not that popular. Ever read, vote and comment have been worth it. Thank you all so much for your support, don't forget to vote and comment if you liked it I really want to know. XOXO -Lanie
I wasn’t even aware I had fallen asleep, but when I awoke sunlight was streaming through the glass windows, I could now see that I was in a cathedral. The ceilings seemed as if they spanned up forever, the art that adorned the glass windows was beautiful and calming despite the fact that I was still chained to a marble table.
“Glad to see you’re awake my dear. We have a lot to do today.” I heard Valistar’s voice to my right. I looked over and there he sat drinking out of a goblet as he sat on one of the pews.
I felt a rush of many emotions surge through me, contempt, pity, sadness. “What?” I asked, I was slightly sad that my voice still came out scared.
“Well, I’m going to get you settled into your actual room. It’s not fair to simply keep you tied up in here now is it? All you have to do is behave and I’ll treat you more as a guest than a prisoner.” He said as he walked over to me and unclasped my chains.
My first instinct was to run. I jumped up and began running, picking up my dress as so that I didn’t trip on it. But I was sluggish, it was as if everything was in slow motion. Valistar came to be standing in front of me, a look of playful disapproval on his face. He grabbed me by my wrist and held me to him.
“You should know better. Your powers are suppressed. You’re almost as weak as a human.” He said giving a small chuckle. He picked me up over his shoulder and began walking. Despite my better judgment I fought against him, hitting my fists onto his back in an attempt to get him to relinquish his hold on me. He laughed at this and gave my butt a playful slap.
“Behave, I had no idea you were this feisty, this could be even more fun that what I had imagined.” He was carrying me down everlasting corridors, glass window panes on either side of us. I wondered if anyone would be able to hear me scream.
“Don’t even think about it, this is so far away from civilization it would do you no good to scream.” He was prodding into my mind again, reading it and seeing my emotions. I felt like I was being invaded.
I shut up after this, seeing no use in digging myself a bigger grave. Valistar finally walked through a door that led to a decent size room. There was a four poster bed up against the wall with sheets that looked like silk, there were also dressers of the richest mahogany.
“There’s also a bathroom through that door on the left, but remember if you misbehave there will be consequences. I don’t want to hurt you more than I already have to. Please don’t make this any harder for the both of us. Clothes have been provided for you, I will be up here every day at 4 am for dinner.” He set me down and took a few steps back before stopping and thinking. Something flashed in his crimson eyes and I saw his fangs elongate, I couldn’t help but flinch and take a step backwards.
“Are you afraid of me Scarlett?” He whispered, taking a step closer.
“N-No.” My voice was stronger than what I felt.
“Well, you should be.” Suddenly he was in front of me, one of his hands on my waist while the other took my long hair and swept it back revealing my long neck. I gave an involuntary shiver and his cold hands moved along my neck, stopping to feel my fluttering pulse that raged beneath my skin.
“Part of you secretly wants this. Wants me. There’s danger in me that gives you a thrill.” He spoke above my neck causing goose flesh to rise and spread across my body.
“You’re wrong.” My voice was much stronger than before and I reached out and gave a sharp shove to Valistar, he took a step back a look of shock on his face.
“I love Darien, and no matter how much you try to scare me it won’t work. He’ll come for me, I feel it in my heart.” I put more distance between us, placing my hands over my neck to protect it.
“We will see how long your strong will lasts my dear. This was only the beginning.” And with a twirl of his robe he was gone, and the clicking of a lock signified that I was trapped.
I collapsed on the floor, shaking and shivering. I didn’t really know if Darien would come for me, we had never truly expressed our feelings. I didn’t know what his real emotions towards me were, I was only grasping onto what little hope I had left in me. I stood up and went into the bathroom which was just as grand as the bedroom. I took a hot shower in hopes that I would feel refreshed and relaxed, but it only seemed to make me feel more drained and exhausted. As I looked for clothes to wear the only pajamas there were was lingerie, with an exasperated huff I threw on one of the nightgowns and crawled into bed. By now the sun was well into the air and I felt the undying need to sleep for an eternity, I closed my eyes and let the dream world take me.
I stood in a meadow, the moon was full and high in the sky casting its dark beauty down onto the Earth. A billowing white gown flew out around me as a soft summer breeze fluttered across the land.
“Scarlett?” A voice called to me. I looked behind me and there he was. Darien.
“Darien!” My voice was choked with emotions as I ran to him embracing him as tightly as I could.
“Where are we?” I asked looking up into his eyes, tears streaming down my pallid cheeks.
“We’re in what’s called a Dream Meadow, it’s where people come to see each other in their sleep. Where are you? What happened? Are you okay?” Darien’s questions came out in a rush as he examined my body for any cuts or bruises.
“Valistar has kidnapped me, I don’t know where we’re at. Darien I’m scared.” I clutched his shirt in my hands a sob escaping my throat.
“Don’t worry. We’re coming to get you. Father Sinsata thinks he knows where you’re at. We’re going to save you and I’m going to rip the life from Valistar with my own bare hands. Has he touched you at all?”
I looked down in shame and guilt, “He’s only fed from me and kissed me. I wasn’t able to do anything, I’m as weak as a human. My powers are being suppressed somehow.”
The look of rage on Darien’s face was honestly scary, his eyes had turned black as night and his fangs were peeking out from under his lips. He gave a shuddering sigh as he touched my cheek.
“I will make him pay for this. Scarlett, I have to go now, but don’t give up hope. Know that I love you with all my heart.” With that being said he grabbed me by my hips and pulled me into the most searing kiss. The passionate behind it was blinding. I kissed him back with equal fever running my hands through his hair, tugging it gently.
“I must go now. I’ll visit you when I can.” He said softly as he walked away, his body disappearing into the night.
I woke up with dried tears on my face and a deep crimson blush on my body. A sense of relief flooded through me as I realized that they weren’t going to abandon me. There was hope. And so long as there was hope, I would keep fighting.
