We walked into Father Sinsata's office where he was waiting for me, a warm smile on his face. He was dressed in a suite, with a crimson tie, and silver cuff links. 

"Hello Darling. You look...like royalty." He bowed low to me, and I did the same.

"Thank you. So much. For everything." I smiled.

"It is not a problem. Are you nervous?" He asked, I nodded feeling butterflies in my stomach.

Corleen passed me along to Father Sinsata and I looped my arm through his.

"Time to show you off to the world."

We walked down a long corridor leading to two large oak doors embroidered with golden details. I could hear chattering behind the doors, and the aroma of rich perfumes and power. I took a deep shuddering breath before we walked into the room. Instantly it was silent. All eyes on us. On me. Father Sinsata spoke clear and powerful, for his old look, his voice rang through the room.

"I am Father Sinsata. I must thank you all for traveling here for our yearly Grand Ball. Tonight, I have an announcement of up most importance. This lovely woman I carry with me tonight is Scarlett Viniche. She is the one we have searched for for centuries upon centuries and now we have found her. Newly turned vampire she bores the mark of the prophecy and has already shown power beyond what we know. I welcome you Scarlett to the Vampire Society." Father Sinsata pushed me forward to where I was in the view of everyone.

Darien bowed low, followed by my sister, Julius, Alex, and soon the entire room filled with vampires bowing to me. I curtsied and smiled. 

"Thank you all so much." I said surprised at how calm and serene my voice sounded, I didn't sound like me.

"It is my honor to serve you." A voice called out, others joined in agreement, my cheeks heated up and my nervousness began catching up to me, but I tried my best pushing it down my throat as I willed myself to continue speaking. I took long, elegant steps forward to the balcony to where I could see everyone.

"I have only been a vampire for a short time, and yet I can't feel more at home. Everyone has been just so amazing. Because of everyone here I am able to feel like me." I sent smiles to everyone but made them my warmest when my eyes connected with any one of my friends.

"Please everyone, resume the party." Father Sinsata said coming up next to me.

I exhaled a long breath I hadn't even realized I was holding. Darien came up next to me and looped my arm through his.

"You are breathtaking." His breath was warm against my ear.

"T-thank you." I stammered.

As soon as the two of us hand came down the stairs we were bombarded by people. There were so many questions for me to hardly even focus.

"Everyone back away. She will talk to you when she gets to you. Any of you lay a finger on her and I will chop it off. Understood?" Dariens' powerful voice instantly made every back away from me. I wasn't even sure how I should speak to them, they were all aristocrats. High up, rich vampires. 

"It's a pleasure to meet you all." I said addressing the crowd that was now circled around me.

"The pleasure is ours." A young man said stepping out of the crowd. He had fiery red hair and stood taller than the other people in the crowd. I wondered why I hadn't noticed him.

"My name is Garret. Member of the Russian Clan." He said bowing low.

"The only time a Russian member comes around is when he wants something." Darien said smugly.

"No, this is a momentous occasion. Most all the clans are here are they not?" He replied with a smile.

"Indeed it is." I said breaking the two of them up.

"Well my lady I am so glad I got to meet you." Garret said kissing my hand before walking off.

"Don't associate with him. He's planning something. But I need to take you to meet your personal body guard."

Darien and I walked through the crowd of people, I said hello when I managed to, but otherwise Darien was pulling me through the mass of people. We walked over to a corner where a young woman was standing. 

"Scarlett this is Aqua."

"Bonjour. Plaisir de vous rencontrer." She said.

She gave me a smile "Hello. Pleasure to meet you." She said again in English.

I laughed and smiled at her "It's a pleasure to meet you too." 

Aqua was lean with muscle and had a platinum blond hair and had deep blue eyes.

"I promise to serve you to the best of my ability my Lady." She promised getting down on one knee.

"Thank you so much." I said.

She simply nodded her head "Care to dance Scarlett?" Darien asked suddenly pulling me closer to him.

"It would be my pleasure."

We spun out onto the dance floor elegantly; everyone around us stopped and decided to watch us. I had become quite good at dancing. Darien pulled me close, resting one hand firmly on my waist and he took my hand in the other. A soft waltz began and we flew into the calm beat.

"You really are something else." He murmured looking in my eyes.

"What do you mean?" My face was a warm shade of pink.

"Well, you just are different, from anyone I've ever met." 

"I guess that's a good thing. I won't bore you."

"That is completely true."

We danced, the world around us fading into nothing, just the two of us in the spotlight. When the song ended Darien dipped me down and placed his mouth over mine in a firm and loving kiss. I found myself responding whenever I remembered that we were in front of a huge crowd. We both pulled apart, faces red.

"We apologize." The both of us bowed despite the roaring applause we were receiving. I hardly saw Alex's sad face before he walked away. His eyes held a deep pain, and a sad heart and it made my own heart ache.
