Well, this was another crazy chapter. It's a decent length too so that's always a bonus! It's pretty late where I am so forgive my mistakes, I'll go back and edit tomorrow if I have time. Please leave me a comment and vote, I appreciate them so much and they mean the world to me. I just wanted to say that as this book is drawing to a close I cannot thank everyone who has taken the time to read this book. I'm not uber popular on here so every vote, every read, every comment really has a special place in my heart. And there are a lot of people who have personally been helping me in this endeavor. There's going to be a whole part dedicated to acknowledgements but  I'd like to personally thank @phoenixrains for her phenomenal support and always being so encouraging to me, voting and commenting. She's an amazing writer and everyone needs to check out her work. She's entering for the Wattpad prize so go and support her! Sorry I know this was a really long author's note, anyway hope you enjoy. ~Darien’s POV~

I watched as Valistar looked up, he smiled and threw his head back in maniacal laughter. Wind began blowing viciously through the room and a piercing white light was coming from Scarlett’s now limp body. Valistar’s laughter grew louder.

“There’s not a damn thing you guys can do now. I’m about to have all the power I need to get revenge on you all. You will all pay for your sins and transgressions against me!” He was hysterical.

Corleen let out a scream as she ran forward to try and attack Valistar, he lifted his hands up and it was as if the winds obey him. A gush of wind sprung forward and knocked Corleen back into a pillar. I felt hopeless as I could only stare at Scarlett, her beautiful body limp and lifeless, a true ghost. I felt in the back of my mind that Julius was tugging on my arm, he looked calm on the surface but underneath you could see his panic and terror.

“Darien! Snap out of it! We might be able to save Scarlett!” He yelled at me slapping me hard across the cheek.

I woke up from my daze and let the situation sink in around me. I felt wind whipping against my skin, everyone stood in a line, mixed looks of sadness, hopelessness and anger on our faces. But most of all I felt fury, hard and cold pouring through me.

“How?” I ground out, my teeth clenched, my fangs biting into my lip drawing blood.

“You have to form a soul mate bond, it’s something even more powerful than death because love spans on for an eternity. We just have to distract Valistar long enough to perform the ritual. It’s our only hope, if Scarlett is your true mate then it could bring her back but we don’t have any time to waste, once the alignment is over she’ll be dead for sure. As it is she’s suspended between life and death fighting to make it back.” He spoke so quickly it was hard for me to catch everything that he was saying.

No one needed orders, we all sprang into action. Aqua was the first to attack him and land a hit, she swung down from the cathedral banisters and knocked him in the chest with his feet. While he was stunned Julius encased him in a spell that rendered him immobile.

I ran up to Scarlett and held her body close to mine, tears spilling from my eyes and falling down my cheeks to drip onto her body making plip plip noises as they hit her skin. I gently pulled the knife from her body, fresh blood seeping from the wound and onto the floor.

“Julius!” I yelled at him, my voice cracking from the raw emotions that were storming inside of me. He flashed over to us in a bolt of lightning, he waved his staff around in an arc in the air causing a white light to surround us. We couldn’t see what was happening around us, it was only Julius, Scarlett and I. We still heard the battle that was raging outside, Valistar’s screams of protest and rage, the elements flinging themselves against the barrier around us.
