Secret Passageways

October 3rd 1971, Sunday.

Autumn flooded the castle as the crimson red and fiery orange leaves fell effortlessly from the surrounding tree's. It had been just over a month since arriving at Hogwarts, the school year well under way. Everyone had now fallen into their own little groups and created their own routines.

Astra was wandering the grounds as she did every Sunday morning, taking in the breath-taking views that could never get old. Walking along the edge of the Forbidden Forest, Remus kicked his way through the fallen leaves beneath him, shuffling along next to her.

It had become somewhat routine for the two of them to take these walks together. That first Sunday after they had agreed to be friends, she had run into him along the shore of the Black Lake. Instead of running off like he usually would, he simply changed his direction and joined her.

Since then, it had become an unspoken arrangement between them that they would meet at the Black Lake, eight am every Sunday morning, before setting off around the grounds.

It was mainly silent as they walked, the odd small talk here and there. She liked it that way, so did Remus. It wasn't awkward or uncomfortable at all, it was exactly what they both needed. Time to just enjoy the quiet after a long week of dealing with classes and their extremely loud friends.

"Breakfast?" Remus spoke out, breaking the silence as they arrived back at the entrance to the castle.

Astra glanced up at him. His cheeks were flushed red from the coldness of the air, a brown bobble hat perched on top of his head, the colour matching his eyes. It was uncanny how much he looked like Atlas.

"Sure" She nodded up at him, smiling.

As they arrived at the entrance to the Great Hall, Peeves whizzed down the corridor, the Bloody Barron not far behind him with a very unamused look on his face. The poltergeist drifted through both Astra and Remus causing them to shiver.

"I don't think I'll ever get used to that feeling" Astra groaned, shaking off the eerie feeling it left behind.

"Have I ever mentioned I fucking hate ghosts?" Remus laughed slightly, mirroring her actions.

"Many a time" She let out a soft laugh before they began walking again.

Making their way through the grand double doors, the Great Hall was covered head to toe with bewitched, floating pumpkins, all carved with different faces.

"Ah hah" Sirius grinned as they sat down at the table. "Lupins. I've been waiting for you"

A smirk formed on his lips as he wrapped an arm around her shoulder, looking down at her fluttering his eyelashes.
