Hey hey hey,

So this chapter is a dual pov, the first part being Remus' and the second part being Astra's.

I enjoyed writing this chapter a lot and I hope you enjoy reading it.

Summer of 1972

August 24th 1972, Thursday.

As summer was nearing an end and school was just over a week away, Remus was growing more and more irritated by the kids around him.

The people he lived with at the boy's home weren't his friends, they weren't even his acquaintances. If he was being honest, he disliked every single one of them. They weren't James or Peter or Sirus, they were just people he had to tolerate until he could leave again.

He had never been particularly close with any of the boys there, they all had a tendency to stay away from the weird kid with scars and bruises who was somehow always at the center of trouble.

Of course, it all made sense to him now. All the times things had randomly set on fire around him when he got angry. All the times one of the other boys would randomly trip over their own feet or mysteriously have items fly towards them. However no one else knew, they just thought him to be strangely odd and unlucky, so they stayed away.

Remus didn't think this to be a bad thing however, he enjoyed being alone much more than being in their company. He was lucky enough to have a room to himself too, which worked out perfectly because it meant he was able to lock himself away from everyone.

The only downside was that Matron had taken everything he had that was related to the wizarding world and locked them away in a cupboard until he was to leave for school again, meaning the books he had taken out to get ahead with his studies were of no use.

Usually, Remus would be up at the first hint of sunlight, waiting eagerly at the small window of his bedroom in hopes that an owl would come soaring over the tall stone walls that towered over the gardens.

He didn't expect mail every day, but if it arrived, he wanted to be able to collect his letters and send his own off as quickly as possible, with the hopes that none of the boys would notice the unusual amount of owls that had been flying around recently.

As expected, he had regularly received correspondence from James and Peter. Almost every day at least one of their owls would fly over the towering walls that surrounded the grounds and perch right outside his window.

Astra wrote too, although not as much because the two of them spoke on the telephone quite often. Something the boys did not know how to do.

He had even received a couple of letter's from Gwen Tonks and Mary MacDonald which he did not expect at all.

Gwen had been his potions partner all year, meaning they had spent a fair bit of time together in the library, however he didn't realise that the two of them were on correspondent terms so the post came as somewhat of a shock to him. It was not long at all, the letter, just a few lines of how she had been and asking him how his summer was, but it did brighten his day.
