i woke up due my phone ringing. it was john.
j: john / m: me Caro

m: morning john
j: good morning, i just read your message.
m: oh yeah, thats okay. whats your plan? when do you come back to university?
j: i still going stay a few days with my family why you want to go back already?
m: hold on

i answered him and leave caseys room. today was the first morning she wasnt awake early.
i walked down to my room while take to john.

m: idk my trip.. isnt like i thought it would be. i think I'm glad to be back at my dorm.
j: what does it mean?

i told him how cas left for a few days, i traveled to la. and everything what happened.

j: ah yeah i understand. i text you the date later when i will drive back and i can pick you up then if you want.
m: yeah thats nice thank you so much
j: love you little
m: love you too

and with that we hung up.
shit, seems i stuck alone here again in a few days when casey need to left.

"was that your lover?" i heard kells voice as i left my room to go into the kitchen, he sound cold.
" ohh shit, kells stop scaring me like that" i jumped in shock.

normally he would chuckle at my reaction, but nothing.

"who was that?" he asked.
"did you eavesdrop me?" i asked back.
"no, youre not that interesting as you think" he answered and walk past me up the stairs, let me standing there with open mouth.

"what is your problem?" i asked as i entered the kitchen were he is.
"pete has no coffee in his basement" he said dryly.
"no, i dont mean that. your answered 'i'm not that interesting as is think' i never say that" i speak up offended.
"i'm just saying i didn't eavesdrop you" he says and leaves the kitchen without looking at me and without the coffee.

Whats going on? i'm super confused by his reaction.

i made myself a coffee. finally casey entered the kitchen.

"good morning" she greet me.
"morning" i greet back.
"pete and i planed, we all go and pick some breakfast in the diner we often went to when we were young" she smiled "is he awake?".
"uhhm i dont know. i havent seen him" i answered her.
"okay get ready and i go check at him. we wanted to leave in 20 minutes".
together we walk downstairs and i got ready in my room

we decide to walk to the diner. cas and i were walking in front of the boys.
kells and i havent spoke a word since this morning. i choose to respect that, even if it hurts me. i wish i would know why he acts so different,  everything seems normal last night.

caseys phone rang. she excused herself and ran a few steps in front of us before picking up.
i walked in silence as pete, joined my side.

"hey" he grinned.
"hey" i smiled back.
"i heard sam was here" he wiggled with his eyebrows.
"uhm yeah, where do you know?" i asked.
"cas told us yesterday, we met her in the kitchen at night" he explained and i nod.
"are you going to see him again?" he asked very curious.
"idk, why are you asking?".
"idk, just one tip, if you like him, tell him. i'm sure he would be happy to here it" he looked at me with soft eyes.
before i could say that sam and i are just friends, pete let him self fall back next to kells.

i looked back at kells and saw he clearly could hear our conversation. he looked at his phone with no emotions on his face.

caseys phone call ends as we arrived the diner.

it was a weird tension at the table, i'm not sure if cas and pete registered it too. i tried my best to act normal and laughed with them, but i was very glad as we finally made our way back home.

pete and cas decide we are going to chill in his basement. casey needs to fill some papers for her internship and she has to leave tomorrow already. they told her that on the phone earlier. pete offered to help her with the papers.
now we four are sitting on petes couch.

"okay, there is one paper missing. i am going to print it out new. pete can you help me with this new printer?" cas asked and pete nod. they both get up and left the room.

a awkward silence filled the room now. i looked at kells, who hung at his phone.
okay time to try some small talk.

"its so cute how pete helps cas. he is a good brother" i said quietly.
"yeah" was all kells answered.
i sighed.

last try.
"are you okay?" i asked kells seriously.
"yes".
nothing more, nothing less.
why is he so cold to me.

"did i do something wrong or why are you so cold to me?" i said more harshly as i wanted.
he finally looked up at me with no emotions "what did you expect? that i jumped in your arms and kiss you, now that we meet again? it was a game and its over now".
he looked back to his phone.

his answer hurts me, i didnt expected something like this at all. i still dont understand why we didnt talk like normal people.

"i never expect that, and its not what i meant. i meant why we dont talk like normal people with each other?" i snap back.
"ask your loverb-" he got interrupted as pete and cas walked back into the room.

i wished i could ask him why he was normal yesterday, what had changed to today but i didn't want to asked in front of cas and pete.

i sat on my phone texting with john. he was the only person i could vent rn, and since he offered me i took my opportunity.

pete helped cas and talked with kells.
"yoo that chick looks good. are you gonna hit her up?" pete smirked at kells.
"yeah i will see" he smirked back.

i felt sick to my stomach. i mean kells can do whatever he wants. its not like we are a thing or anything, but his behaviour hurts.

fortunately john calls me, a reason to escape out of the room. i got up and excused myself.
i put on some shoe and left the house.

john and i talked for a while. he had a big fight with his parents, so he is considering to drive back earlier to the campus.
he offered he would pick me up, means he would be here in staten island tomorrow noon. i told him i could take the ferry, but he wanted to see my home town.

since my situation here isnt the best and cas is leaving anyways tomorrow i gladly accept his offer.
