The exam weeks were approaching and it was time for everyone to retire to study like crazy in order to get good grades. Even those who missed thousands of classes, just like Hinata had.
She studied like never before, all day inside the library, trying to associate what was a math formula, what was a physics formula, and what wasn't either of those two.
He was like that, reading a page he insistently didn't want to get into his head, something about World War II, the moment the library door opened.
She was so distracted, even though she wished otherwise, that she quickly lifted her pearly eyes from her reading and looked at an astonished Naruto heading towards her.
He lowered his head back to the book. She needed to decorate this, whatever the cost.
"So..." She knew he was standing in front of the table. "Did you know that today is Saturday?"
All she did was nod, feeling her blush. Her hands tugged at the edge of the sweatshirt.
- Hmm... I'm glad you know, because, officially, it's not even Sakura's day to be studying... That's why I, your wonderful and spare time hero, Naruto Uzumaki, came here to save you.. . I am right!
Hinata smiled a little at what he had said the moment she looked at him. He winked fondly, sitting on the edge of the table. And she really couldn't deny the wonderful part.
He looked gorgeous, as he did every day, but on this one, Naruto was wearing a tennis outfit—a light blue Lacoste polo shirt and white shorts—his blond hair was sweaty and he was still holding his racket in his hands. Of course, he was playing games instead of studying.
Maybe he's not stupid like you...
Then Naruto snapped his fingers in front of him and Hinata realized she had passed out.
"Hey Hina, how are you?"
She lowered her eyes, embarrassed. She was staring at him, hard-faced, admiring him.
stupid _
She nodded.
— Yes.
- Are you sure? You are very red.
Played another strategy.
'What did you say?'
For a few seconds, Naruto didn't say anything. Hinata knew he was wondering if she pushed her a little more or if she let it go. Naruto opted for the second.
"I came to ask you to take a walk with me." It's a beautiful day outside and I'm getting worried about how many things you're studying... Did you even have lunch?
- Lunch?
"Yeah, Hinata, it's already four in the afternoon." That's a no, right?
She did not answer.
Naruto, these days, always got angry when she said she hadn't even put any food in her mouth.
Maybe he thinks you need to eat since you're fat.
Hinata wanted to silence that little voice in her mind, which was attacking her more and more after what Sasuke did to her.
Naruto sighed.
"Come on, let's get something to eat and I'll tell you what just arrived.
Knowing there would be no arguing, Hinata stood up, careful to make sure her sweatshirt hadn't come up and accepted when he told her to come forward.
